Happy Birthday Yew Kuan

Yo Yew Kuan(though he never reads my blog). Happy 23rd Birthday. I know it is slightly late but you have been extremely busy with work huh? Well, I hope you had a great day and many returns of the day.

This was our famous trip to Stockholm, Sweden. I will definitely remember this for a long long time.

Well, my history with Mr Kuok is about 13-14 years and it has certainly been quite fun having you as a buddy. I'm still amazed for my side that we have NEVER ever been in the same class for 13-14 years. Even for Jia Jer. Through SKBD to VI. For that 8 years we have never been in the same class. Amazing stuff yet we are brought together by our activities and of course by our Mothers.

Well, now you are a good auditor(cough cough). Semangat yar. :D

Blog Design

Deleted the music box. It was really useless. Oh well, bye bye Radioblog.

The sides have a new design. Well, I hope it isn't too much but I have to say it's not too shabby. Do you think it's too disturbing or should it be darker or brighter etc? Please comment on it. Thanks.

IE also cacat because my blog archive can't see the airplane. I don't know why. :(

Of Bunga Rayas and Coconuts

I can't believe I'm this bored to watch the ultimate classic Imperial College Malaysian Night 2005 - Of Bunga Raya's and Coconuts. Call me a MNight freak or a sadist but it never fails to make me laugh. All the glitches we had. The stress we endured then. Basically, the MNight journey I put it.

I wished YouTube was developed then and I'm sure it would be would have about 50,000 hits on it by now. I think Tock has to do something about it. :)

I was certainly fine working with the best Production Team the Malaysian Society have seen and eventhough we had our differences, we definitely pulled off a great best show which will be remembered for a long long time. Even all the DVDs were even sold out. I wished we could get more DVDs because mine is on the verge of dying.

Well, it does have colour. :)

The famous booklet Charlotte produced.

And that's me super geeky. Aiya. :P

And the ultimate Charlotte page. :)

All I hope that all future MNights would be a fine way of making friends. Remember back to basic people. That's the tip for you guys. :) I definitely did and hey, I didn't regret a single second I spent on make it worth it. :)

Die Hard

I can't believe I'm even watching this movie on TV. It is a 1988 show and the new Die Hard 4 seems more cool with more effects. :) A short summary: Action thirller starring Bruce Willis and Alan Rickman(Professor Snape in Harry Potter). The New York cop launches a one-man rescue operation when crooks hijack an LA office block.

Not to mention I saw a bit of Rocky IV. That one lagi crazy. :P

Brothers and Sisters

I got hooked on with Brothers and Sisters recently. My sister initially watched it in the States where I also got sick and to my amazement, it was really funny. It reminds me the complication of having my crazy family. Of course I do love them very much and hey, without this chaotic things life won't be colourful without dramas and crisis.

Here's a good quote about family,

Family. There is nothing more important. They are the ones who shows up when we are in trouble. They are the ones to push us to succeed. The ones who help keep our secrets.

Sorry, that this series will not make it in Malaysian TV because one of the sons is gay. Oh well, wished my Mom could watch this series.

Linstead Dinner

I know it is slightly late but it is never too late to say thanks to the Linsteadians. I'm very touched for you guys inviting me over. Dinner was excellent and everyone has turned into proper chefs. :) I loved it. I was sooooooooo full. Thanks.

Though, Siew Ping going drenched. Hahahahahahaha. Remember 'Sediakan payung sebelum hujan' la. :D

The gang. L to R anticlockwise: Matt, Ohm, Qi Ting, Wayn, Zhern Yoong, Charlotte, Me, Megan, Siew Ping, Audrey, Chun Te and Xue Lieh.

Time To Say Goodbye

To all my great freshers. You certainly made my last year of my uni an enjoyable one eventhough I wasn't in London much.

From the first time I saw you guys in the ICUMS forums, I was sure you all were crazy especially Heng Kai and Siew Ping who were spamming away with hmmmm spam. :) And yes, both of you are the top posters for your year in the forums. I checked it! Such spammers you are.

So, I met some of you guys at the Fresher's Week. The most memorable one was bumping into Zhern Yoong. He was just damn cool. But loads of surprises from him for sure. Will remember it for a while.

Then came the first MSoc OGM, I still remember giving you 'virgins' the first ultimate taste of Krispy Kremes. I'm sure you all had a good time gobbling down and I'm sure it made you really high. And being the little ones, you all were paiseh me getting a dozen for you guys. Remember, I would want something back in return. *Hint Hint* Just kidding. :D

Let's fast forward 3 months later where you all(I think most) got into your new environment, settling in and attending your lectures(Yea right!!!). Most of you were enjoying and exploring the nightlife of London and continued by the drinking sessions till the wee hours of the night. That will be one of your memories of the uni life.

Then second term started. And all hell broke loose. You all were extremely busy with MNight. The long hours of rehearsals sucked the life of you or to put it in a better way, more like it was a part of your life then. I hope that the MNight journey has been a great experience and you all will carry it out the next show with the best you can do. Since(and hopefully) I might be based in Norway, I will be back for your show. Who knows? I'm just 1 1/2 hours flight away.

And finally, the last term of your first and fresher year. EXAMS! The stress put on yourselves and regretting all the lectures you have missed(due to a late drinknig night) were taking its toll. The long hours or more like camping in the library was certainly the PART of your life then. And of course, the famous story of Wayn nearly missing his exam. Also, the daily morning wake-up service I provided for Siew Ping which I do apologise it was late at times(but you didn't miss any exams :D).

All I have to say, you guys certainly concluded an excellent year for me. Hmmmm. Wait. More like concluded my uni life. I know this sounds soapy, mushy and all but hey, it has been an honour to have met you guys.

In no particular order:
  • Wayn: You certainly have been a comic relief for the year for me and especially Charlotte. Your mother is very proud of you one. Hahaha.
  • Zhern Yoong: Thanks a lot for everything and the recent discussion we had. Very insightful from you I have to admit.
  • Heng Kai: What can I say. I'm just speechless when it comes to you. My ever little brother.
  • Audrey: Though we haven't talked much but you are seriously very scary. A good type to become Wayn's mother. ;)
  • Siew Ping: This is also another case which I don't know what to say. There are not enough words in the entire dictionary to describe you. You know why and I just can't say enough thank yous to you.
  • Xue Lieh: I might have not been close but wei, can I attack you later in Utopia. :)
  • Megan: The extreme one. But hey, don't be too hard on yourself. Just take it easy. Uni is suppose to be the best time of your student life.
  • Deng Wei: You know you are like another Winston Cheah. Hehe. The ever so polite one.
  • Shin Hung: The 'clone' of me. Well, tak pe la bro just rock on.
  • Adam and Qi Ting: Aero rules okay. Keep that in mind. YEA RIGHT!!!
  • Bryan: The ever apologetic one and it seems who fear seniors. Eh kawan, go for your lectures okay for next year.
To the others who I haven't mentioned, I'm sorry. I might have met you briefly but I'm sure you will be a fine senior for the new coming freshers. Freshers(since they are already here) be nice to your seniors and I'm very sure you will take care of you. :P

I wish good luck and I'm sure you all will be fine la. And I can see you all sitting in a big corporate CEO chair. :)

Till our next meet.

Last Dinner Together

Ah ha. Mandarin Kitchen was the last meal together for the 4th years. The meal was long har mee with mixed seafood wrap with lettuce and king prawns and kai lan. Actually, it is making me hungry again. All was very good though I had a workout digging all the meat from the lobster legs. They are really tiny!

Charlotte has certainly been the wiser and older ear for listening to my moanings and complaints from Norway all these while. And previously, the OCD secretary for MSoc. She has done an amazing job with the Soc and left a legacy.

Tock too has been really a great companion(not gay okay). Through your whacky times but yet somehow you have your wise moments. You do have your charms at times too. Hahaha. Don't worry Tock. That's not an insult. You will be fine. Just be focus!!! :D

And after that we headed to Kiasu for our dessert. And guess what. We saw Soha, Iylia and the EE gang. The sweet meal was very good with additional gula melaka. :)

Well, all the best to you guys yar and oh, I better make an appointment with Changyong soon too. :)

Riverdance

One word describes this show. FANTASTIC. I don't think even that word does it justice. I have been mesmerised by it and it is just not an ordinary tapping dance.

Actually, it was really spontaneous for me to book the last ticket they had and go to Oxford on Saturday. The traffic was horrible going there as I went during rush hour but I really didn't know that Oxford is really pretty. It has been a long time I have been there. Oh well, there is always time to go there I suppose.

Peaceful Warrior

I came back at 7.30 a.m from Linstead today talking to the wacky crazy freshers juniors(since they are already 1 year wiser). They were certainly entertaining. Thanks dudes.

Anyway, I feel very inspired after seeing this show. Though I would like to be super fit and do gymnastics. Hehehe. So, it is a person having everything in life then whammmm an accident. So, it is all about recovery and gaining his confidence back. But of course there is more than that.

But something caught my attention. What is happiness? Is the ending where you get your goal in life or is it the journey that you endeavour? Oh well, that's how we define our lifes. :)

On Fire

Wahhhhhhhh. My tummy is on fire hahaha. Charlotte and I went to Addie's for Thai today and man, the food was superbly hot. Oh well, we had to rest a bit because the chilli was basically burning our tongues. Oh well, we shall try it less spicy and pedas. :P

But food was seriously good. Definitely will go there again for my curries.

Last Day in Europe

We went to the Deutsche Museum as it was one of the world's museum. Being an engineer(rolling my eyes), I was quite fascinated with the stuff they had. The chemistry part was cool with mixing stuff. The mechanical part too were cool. They were testing my physics. :P

Anyway, it was the last round of seeing Munich by foot. Though I got a late hang over so it was cut short. Here are some of my last pictures of my Europe trip.

The yellow and black checkers flag is the symbol of Munich.

The hostel we stayed in. :) Met excellent friends there.

One last picture together.

Everyone with their eyes shut. :)

Me too. Hahaha. Everyone was tired.

So, we were all on the S-Bahn to the airport and our flight got delayed due to bad weather. The airport sucked as they didn't have anything good in their duty-free. Everyone was quite tired and everyone slept quietly for the next 1h 20m back to London Stansted.

The End.

Day 3 in Munich

So, this was our last full day in Germany and we decided to go to the Castles in Füssen. They are very famous. I'll let you guess where have you seen this castle before. I think should have seen it before in your life somewhere. If not, I'm quite certain you had a bad bad childhood. :)

Neuschwanstein Castle. Does this castle looks familiar?

Hohenschwangau Castle. Another side castle.

The model of the Castle. It was never completed.

On the side note going to the Castle, I had a misfortune event. Shea Maine realised that she lost her wallet during the train ride. So, I went back to the train to look for it and guess what. The train locked all the doors and started move. I was heading back to Munich. I nearly died. So, I took the next stop out and waited for the next 30 minutes back to Füssen.

It was kinda scary at first because I was stranded on this cement platform with not a single cover or shelter as it was going to rain. Though the scenery helped me a bit. The fields were empty which kept on going for miles and the mountains were at the background. Perfect scenery but at the wrong time. Sorry. No pictures were taken then because I had left everything with Shea Maine. Luckily, I had my handphone with me and I gave a quick ring to the others about my situation. The power of handphones nowadays. :)

Rebecca and I. We were roommates and my iPod lifesaver. :)

Theresa, Tom, Me and Shea Maine. Our last drink in the bar. Man, did I drink a lot. :)

Day 2 in Munich III

Okay. There were a lot of walking. So, after the episode where I got wet and went through the Naked Garden, we continued our little adventure towards the Residence. And also, we went back to Street Live Festival.

The Residence.

Bicycle hockey. That's a first. :)

Human chess. I told you. Very cool.

I haven't seen roller blading live before. They were basically dancing. Amazing.

Skating while juggling. Wow.

Shea Maine and Theresa - pool buddies.

Tom from good old England and me.

After a looooooooooong day, we decided to go the bar in our hostel and just chilled by taking a few drinks. Mine was mostly cocktails. Yummy alcohol!

Day 2 in Munich II

I have to say that we were really using the U-Bahn and S-Bahn to get everywhere in Munich. Since we got a 3 day pass, so we better use it to the max even it is only for 1 stop. :P

Either way, after the Olympic Park we wondered of the city again and we bumped into a Street Live Festival. It was totally amazing. The streets were filled with people. Tonnes of food. Games. Everything you can imagine.

Roller hockey. And behind is the Universirt of Munich. Why can't we have beautiful universities in London?

Radley Beer. This is the smallest mug we could get. The next one was 1 liter. Siao.

Beer Garden. There were tonnes of people and this is even full yet when it comes to the Octoberfest.

Swans with their ducklings cygnets. :P

Ah. Here. Where Shea Maine dropped her glasses into the freezing cold water. I was all wet.
