I'll Stand By You

Got caught up in a whirlpool of emotions. Will you stand by me?

Wednesday, 30 May 2007

Wa Ai Si Liao

My report got piaked by my supervisor in London. He said it is 'superficial'. I had put in a lot of time into this report and now I got this remark. I just feel a bit demoralised. But I know he is one tough supervisor to please. I still remember he commenting on Felix's lab report "Very good" and yet he gave him 56%. Bananas!

However, I think I'm quite lucky that I sent my report to be checked early by him. This would give me the time to refine and edit all the comments/suggestions he gave to me. Better take all these criticism and improve on it. I have to redo my graphs and as someone quoted, "Make it non-superficial".

Jia You Cheng Chun!!!

Black Pepper Chicken

I nearly died of starvation today. All shops were closed due to a holiday(which I believe it is War Veteran Day or something). But luckily, my housemate told me that there was only one Bunnpris which was opened near Tyholt Tower. The day was sunny so why not take a walk.

So after stocking up just for today, I decided to make Black Pepper Chicken. I would say it was quite yummy though I fear I might get a slight food poisoning because the chicken might not have been fully cooked. I realised it but 90% was in my stomach already. I suppose 'tham chiak'. Pray for me if I survive. :D

Sunset at 11.28 p.m

Well, it definitely isn't setting. But I thought it was pretty. May be I should do an hourly picture to see whether the sun REALLY sets. :)

Summer Job

Thursday 24/6. Something that I didn't expect to happen. I was 'busy' doing my work and I received a call from Mi-Swaco. It's an oil and gas company which deals with fluid engineering. They weren't sure whether I'm qualified because my major is aero and nothing much deals with oil and gas. But I should be able to apply all my fluid mechanics in this sector. GO AERO! :D

Now, this is really a challenge. It is going to be for 2 months and will be in Stavanger or Bergen. I hope I can overcome this. Wish me luck. Once again. It is Norway.

p/s: New Label - Job. I want to retire already. :P

Kebosanan Yang Tak Terhingga

Since I have already finished my report(still editing here and there) and still time really flew slowly. I woke up at 10.30 a.m for my Utopia and then went back to sleep. Then I got up at 1 p.m feeling hungry and it came to me that I had NO FOOD!!! I only had a frozen pizza left and that was for dinner. I have been trying to finish all my food before I go back but it seems I have consumed everything . So, my last resort was instant noodles. Aihhhhhhhhhhh.

Then, yar. I had nothing to do. Just trying to entertain some people. But mostly, just wondering off into my report trying to see whether there are things to improve on.

Oh well, I saw this spider running up to an insect bitting it. So, I decided to take a few pictures of Mr Spidey. I have to say now, my room is crawling with them. One night, it dropped on my nose while I was washing my face and I got a shocked. Of course, I did NOT scream! But the outcome of that was my PJs were wet. Haiiiih.

The Report

After spending about 3 weeks, I think it is almost done. I have written about 45 pages and there are about 25 pages worth of data. I'm quite proud this time because I managed to do header and footers. It was a nightmare to do in Word 2003 but with Word 2007, it seems like magic.

For those who are free to proof check my report, do you mind helping me?

All I need now is just to add some more pointers to my discussion and I should be done. Then next, I have to do a power point presentation. Aiya. I hate those. My prof asked use to talk for 1 hour than the 20 minutes recommended. He is crazy!!! I just hope that I can get over this and take my flight home to London.

The weather is fantastic today. Super sunny which woke me up but on the chilly side. I might pop down to town later to get some fish burgers. Hehehehe.

8 more days to go.

Apple Craving

"An apple a day keeps the doctor away"

Lameness but aiya. This past 2 weeks I have been eating tonnes of apples. I have no idea why I started this craving for apples. They sell Royal Gala and Pink Lady but I prefer the sweetness and crunchiness of the former.

Actually I eat a lot of fruits back home in Malaysia because it is normally peeled for me(Yar, I know I'm spoilt). So coming abroad definitely reduced my consumption of fruits. But oh well, now I just bite away the apple.

Oh yea, talking about apples, I still remember the times in Concord where outside the Sports Hall had a few apple trees and what I did was talking a fallen apple and started to throw at the other apples. Hehehe. Fun but the apples were super sweet. Absolutely loved it.

Pirates of the Carribeans III: At World's End

What a show. I think it is quite a good sequel to this movie. Compared to Spidey, this wasn't a letdown. I bet this is going to top the charts. Oh yea, it was about 3 hours long. Hehehe. But it was worth my 80KR.

** SPOILERS AHEAD**

Anyway, the geography on Singapore is simply WRONG! Since when Singapore had such geographical landscape. No offense Singaporeans but you gotta admit. It is impossible you can have that. :D Though I have to admit it was surely an amazing set.

I got confused quite a lot of times. The plot was a bit crazy. But oh well. Good show all in the end. A bit sad on the ending but who knows.

Flower Time

Ah ha. I managed to find a flower. Yes a flower. So far, I only have seen 2 types of flowers. But will attempt to search for them.

My first attempt on taking flowers. Now, who should I blame for influencing me to do so. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Anyway, I hope they are pretty. Can or not, Sifu? :D

American Idol Finale

I have to say that it was quite a show. Lots of singing and Jordin definitely deserved to win. 'This is My Now' was beautifully performed by her. Unfortunately for Blake, it wasn't fair. He wasn't in his element or comfort zone as Paula would say. But this IS a singing competition. You have to be the best of the best.

Though, I don't know why that this time they didn't have a choir to sing with the final 2. Hmmmmm.

It just makes me wonder whether Malaysia will ever produce a singer like that. We do have Jaclyn Victor but I think our standard is still not up there yet. Our second winner, don't need to say lah ah. :P

Shooter

Well, since everyone went to the library, I had to find my own entertainment as usual. So today's selection was Shooter. Not too bad. Though I wonder is it possible for the best sniper in the world can go around killing an entire army? Oh well, they were trained to be the best.

I think another good one to watch is The Bourne Ultimatum acted by Matt Damon in August.

Series'

It's nearly the end of May. Time for summer. This means that most series' are ending too. And what a perfect time to end everything when I'm leaving Norway in 2 1/2 weeks time.

** WARNING! SOME MIGHT BE SPOILERS! **

My first series which ended was Numb3rs. And wow, what an amazing finale. I got to admit it was one hell of an ending. The twist. And my favourite FBI agent. Aihhhhhhh. How could he! Oh well, the maths is still cool.

Desperate Housewives. Since the beginning of that series, I refused to watch it because of it's name. Desperate. I told myself it must just be all scandals only. Bluek! But then I gave it a chance and Season 1 was certain very good. However, it kinda got a bit side-tracked and it was plain. But this new Season's ending was quite a good one except for the last 30 seconds.

Another random series I just saw online was Heroes. Who would ever thought that it was be an amazing series. I mean the first 2 episodes were a bit slow but it picked up. However, it was more of a roller-coaster ride as some episodes were super great then it went down compared to Prison Break. More like a sine wave I would say. :)

Agent Jethro Gibbs. What a name. But NCIS is certainly entertaining. The finale is going to be a bang I think with what is about to happen. I hope it is not going to be a disappointment. With all the series' ending, I really want to see something with a bang.

Tick Tock Tick Tock. Ah ha. You guessed it. 24. Now, that series is going to end next week but then it was quite good this Season. So far, I think 24 has been quite constant with its quality. Mr Bauer is the ever invincible CTU agent. But at times too much drama. I can't stand it! Not to mention, they never go to the toilet ever!

American Idol Finals. It is now between Jordin and Blake. Hmmmmmmm. I wonder who will win. I like Jordin better but Blake is original. Who knows. Dolittle got kicked out. Quite like her.

Prison Break. This time it wasn't as great as the first season where you just keep getting off your seat wanting to know more. I know that finished in April but I kinda stopped at episode 8 for some odd reason. I will continue it later may be when I'm back in London.

Shrek 3

May be I'm losing my kiddieness in me but I think it was not too shabby. I loved one part and burst out laughing. Oh well. Would see it again if I get a better copy if you know what I mean. ()=P

Disaster

OH MY GOD!!! I just realised that I must have a logbook where I have to continuously write stuff from the beginning of the project. Oh well, I'm going to fidget and fudge my way through this. I have my mini Shell notepad but I don't think that can cover up to 10% of my entire project.

Nevermind. Semangat a bit to go to the bookshop and get a logbook. BUT THEN! How can Union bookshop close at 3 p.m!!! Wah lau!!! This is cacat man. Aihhhhhhhh. Then I have to do my drawings for my kawaii vortex generators but then I can't print.

More disasters after another. :(

Unfortunate Events

For some stupid reason, my mobile is not working. I can't call out but I can send text messages. I really wanted to call 2 people in particular but my stupid phone dieded on me.

Then my glooves I was using has a hole in it. I can't believe that I might have punctured it with my nails. I definitely don't have sharp nails. Sigh.

Then my MSN. All the messages now can't be sent. Stress. So many people are depending on me. :D

My laptop mysteriously had no sound coming out. I was playing the MSN settings then bham!!! Then I had to restart and still to no avail. DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Siao man! How many events like this can happen in 1 hour.

Good Luck

I don't know what's wrong with me but I'm getting this exam fever from the juniors. Hahaha. I know I was done 4 months ago but they are all making me worried. Children these days. :)

"Good luck and all the best guys!"

I'm sure you all have done as much as you could and you'll be fine. In 2 1/2 weeks you will be going somewhere so go all out and it will be all over soon. After all, you all are pelajar cemerlang!

On the side note, I want to be back in London now lar!!!

Vandread

YAY!!! Finally, I managed to watch all of it. It first came out Astro but then I saw halfway through because I left for Concord. The second time I attempted to watch it was in my second year but then the file I downloaded didn't come with subtitles. I nearly died with the Japanese then.

But now, since I'm maximising the download speed here, I got it done in 5 hours(a 5 GB file altogether). MUAHAHAHAHA!!! Hey man, I'm paying for my internet here you know. So, I'm using my money's worth! :D

Anyway, Vandread is a cool mecha anime. The series shows that men and women live in 2 separate worlds thinking that each other are some disease and such. All I have to say, it is quite funny and most of all, I just love the Vandreads. They are only become Vandreads when the Van-type robots piloted by men and Dreads piloted by women combine.

So sugoooooooooooooooooooi!!!

Milo Tarik

Since I'm forced to finish everything in my room before going back to London, I have to finish this huge packet of milo given by Heng Kai. So, instead of just adding hot water to the 3-in-1, I just took 2 big cups and started 'tariking' them. Oh well, I suppose I have nothing better else to do at the moment though I have a target to finish my discussion/analysis for my report.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. So yummy with the bubbles and airiness in my milo. Haha. What a nut I am.

The Prestige

Wow. I can say that this is quite a good movie. Nice plot and a twist at the end was good. Lemon girl chose it again and it was great. 2 rival magicians battling it out to see who is the best in the industry but along the way self-destructing.

Whoooooopy!

Actually at midnight today, I have been extremely happy. Even I couldn't sleep because I was over the moon.
  1. It was partly due to katanonigaoriru but it was further lifted by my little bro, Heng Kai, with his worldly comments and advices.
  2. Too much chocolates. I have and had quite a variety of them(most of them are in my tummy now). But it was Kai's selection. It is delicious!
  3. Going to town to see the National parade. I haven't done it before. So quite excited and it was good and fun!
  4. And may be I'm purely gila-gila.
How happy I was. I automatically woke up at 7.30 a.m even I slept at 4 a.m. Oh well, it is always better to be happy than to be sad.

Talking about Kai, sometimes, I wonder who is acting as the older bro. Hahaha. Thanks bro. ;)

National Day II

Well, more pictures.

Tae Kwan Do. It seems to be very popular. I love it.

Gymnastics.

The church. Cool stuff.

A sail boat. Hmmmmmm.

The circus too on parade.

Up up he goes!

I want! I want!

Traditional dresses.

Damn. I wanted to try too.

National Day

Today, it is the Norwegian National Day. Celebrated on the 17th of May each year, this represents the day where the Swedish gave back the land to Norway. To cut the story short, it is another day to go to town and have fun. I felt very underdressed as many wore suits and their traditional costumes.

Today, it is also the first time where all the people of Trondheim came out of their hibernation. The city centre was packed with people and it was definitely a cheerful atmosphere. The weather was nice but on the cold side. Either way, the parade was certainly different compared to Malaysia. People are free to do whatever they want.

The old troops.

Look at his misai!

Lion Dance in Trondheim! No way!

Sky diver.

Traditional folk dance.

Calvary.

Oh yea, I saw my workshop manager doing the swing dance. Hahaha. Very good he was. :)

Katanonigaoriru

Today, I got up at 1 p.m which is odd because I never wake up that late no matter what time I sleep. Anyway, it started off a bit rough for me. I didn't have the inspiration to do my report. I felt a bit sluggish and just useless.

However, I decided to become a handyman to replace the light tubes in the kitchen. Well, I know it is easy but hoi, I had to go out to the caretaker's office to get the new light tubes(not to mention it poured). So, a simple task was done. I was contented I accomplished something today. Hehehe.

Then next came the evening, I still felt a bit sluggish and emo but I dragged myself to do my report. I decided to do all the formatting and it was really a pain. I had to reformat all my graphs because I doubt the colour I used would be able to be printed. So, I had to darken the grids and so on. That was my 4th doing the graphs. How sad is that.

Actually, that's not really why I'm rambling about. I'm just really relieved that someone has heard me out there about the problem I have been facing for the past week. I have been quite upset and it has been bottled up inside of me ever since and was on the verge of exploding. Basically, I have been released from this small problematic matter.

Thank you. Terima kasih. Takk. You have certainly been a good pair of ears to listen what I had to say. Now, I'm fully ready to finish my report by this week even though I have planned to finish it in 2 weeks time. It gives me more time to relax to the max.

Note: This is the meaning of 'Katanonigaoriru'

Oink Oink

ZHUUUUUUUUUU!!!

Hot Fuzz

Today's selection of movie was Hot Fuzz. Random selection which was 'Tristan and Isolde' was thrown aside because of the sigh syndrome was so bad if I watched any jiwang shows, I myself would have self-destructed.

Hot Fuzz was funny. I liked the role of Nicholas Angel. A strict, no-bend-the-rules officer who is just obsess with his work. Reminds me when I was a monitor in VI. Loved the action part where the elderly were all using firearms. This show was subtle in the beginning but shockingly violent. Even I don't like movies with the word F*** in it but this one was well used and really funny.

Well, this movie certainly took a bit of the sigh syndrome in me. :D

Siew Ping Dikiring

- Edit-

Well, self-explanatory. :D

Sigh Syndrome

Today for what ever so reason, this has been plaguing me. I was quite happy in the afternoon since I finished my target of 3 paragraphs for my report(which by the way I did an extra one since I was extremely bored). Then bhammmm! The sigh syndrome kicked in.

Do note that all these sighing apparently reduces the life span of a person because it is some depression thingy. Beats me. But now, I just want to keep sighing, aihhhing and haihing.

'AIHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!'

p/s: It is infectious!

Tuesday, 15 May 2007

Elektra

Wow. Siew Ping did it again. Her random selection is good. Very powderful la you. :P

Overall, the movie was good. I wished for more kick ass fights but oh well. Much better than ultraviolet anyway.

Monday, 14 May 2007

Benchwarmers

Damn funny. It was selected by Siew Ping and it was a good one though she haven't seen it yet. I pretty enjoyed it. Certainly entertaining.

Honda Ad

I'm sure most of you have seen this but till now it is still cool.

The facts of the ad:-
  1. Shot in real time with no CGI.
  2. Cost $6 million to shoot.
  3. Took 3 months to complete.
  4. Equipment set-up so precise that crew had to tip toe around as it might disturbing the things.
  5. As the day go on, the wood and cog would have expanded. The exhaust might spins slightly faster. These changes made a big difference to the precision set-up.

Reflection

Okay. This definitely sounds jiwang but I don't think it isn't overly jiwang. I realised that I'm not as strong as I thought I was. You know. Being aboard for nearly 6 years I thought I'm quite independent and all(which I'm of course). No doubt I won't be the same person if I was back in Malaysia.

But being in Norway has shown me that I'm quite vulnerable to the world. I suppose I have been always spoon fed in UK since I have my sisters there. I'm always just a bus or train ride away to see them if I needed some TLC. Hehehe. Hey, what did you expect from the little one of the family. Brat eh. I know. :)

I was prepared to go to Norway leaving everything behind(though it was only for 4 months). Knowing that my set of friends have gone their separate ways, I dared to venture out. Out of my comfort zone. And going to a super foreign country where everyone is like 5' 10" at least and you are definitely THE foreigner, I would say it definitely took guts to do so.

Mana tau this year(06/07), I met an amazing bunch of friends(my baby freshers) who really showed me that life is really fun. I suppose I didn't get the opportunity in my first year to really go all out. That's why I'm catching up with all of it.

Because of them, coming to Norway was extremely hard for me. Even though I hardly knew them, I feel somehow we are connected in some way like some long lost buddies. And of course, I found a new little brother along the way. Hahaha. Not to mention a siao cha boh too. It does make life more interesting. :P

So yea, all this emo emo stuff from me for the past 3 months came from this. Who would have thought that Cheng Chun, the lone ranger would actually feel sad for being too lonely. Ironic.

It has been a great privilege and honour to have met you guys. And I'm not regretting every second me being here. What a good thing to end my last years of my university life. Making great friends!

Ultraviolet

Since the block next to my room is going amok and there is no point sleeping that soon as the party is going to end in the wee hours, I watched Ultraviolet. The movie was not too bad but too much CG. Oh well, it is impossible to do all those stunt. Boleh tahan la the show.

Gundam Wing

Yay. Finally, I managed to finish watching the classic Gundam Wing. An excellent piece though it was a bit crazy over peace and war. Anyway, I have always liked Gundams.

L to R: Shenlong Gundam, Sandrock Gundam, Wing Gundam, Deathscythe Gundam and Heavyarms Gundam.

Wing Zero.

Deathscyhe Hell. Looks like a bat.

Oh yea. Gundam Zeta is on its way. Muahahahahaha!

At 2.31 a.m

Another random picture out of the blue. This time it is sunrise. I hear birds chirping. Gssssssh.

Good morning Trondheim.

Data, Data, Data

Aiseh. I just formatted about 22 pages of data from Excel into Word. I just hate doing tables in word and especially in 'landscape'. I think I have another 22 more to go tomorrow with a different set of data. Not to mention, I have another 10 graphs to plot. Talking about a REAL experiment.

Well, I took a 15 min walk around my hall. I couldn't stand staying in my room for the past 70 odd hours. I suppose I needed a change of environment for a while. That helped take a pinch of 'worry' out of my system that has been bugging me. However, no time to think of it now. I'm pressing for time with my report.

I think I worry too much at times. I should follow this siao cha boh's advice, 'Let go, let go.' Short but effective. Hahaha. :)

Thursday, 10 May 2007

Headache

Aiya. I must have been sleeping too much. Now, I have this headache. I better get lunch going.

I don't know what got over me at 7 a.m today where I found myself curling up like a cat 180 degrees away from my pillow. Very weird. A funny dream though. Something like Infernal Affairs. Hahaha.

Though now suddenly, I miss certain people.

Wednesday, 9 May 2007

Snowing

Harrrrrrrrrr. It is snowing!!! How is that possible. Not every drop is snow but you can see something extra white. We are in May and every where now is BURNING!!! Oh well, it is nice to sleep now too. Back to bed. :)

At 1.26 a.m

Oh well, another random post at this time of hour.

I'm serious. I didn't do anything to the picture. No photoshop.

Orchids

Among all the flowers in the world, I find orchids to be the most beautiful and elegant. It is just pure and simple which makes the best things in life. Vanilla too comes from orchids. I just found that out. Cool.

Phalaenopsis.

Bifoliate Cattleya.

Mind you all, this is not being gay but the flowers were for my Mom. :)

p/s: Thanks Ya Teng for the delivery and pictures. They are certainly lovely especially the Phalaenopsis.

Bummer

- Edit -

Well NOW, I officially have ended my work. Whether I have more things to do, I can't do it because I don't have the wind tunnel for the next 2 1/2 weeks and by then it will be too late for me to do anything since my report is due on the 6th of June back in London.

So, I should be popping out a bottle of champagne(I wished however alcohol here is expensive!) and having a big toast. But I'm not really over the moon. There is still report which needs to be written. I have another more than 3 weeks to get it done.

I suppose I'm superbly tired from my walk back home today. I sendiri cari pasal you can say. Hah. Well, I thought it was a pretty day, so I wanted to take the opportunity to walk(and try to find some flowers) since it was about 12 degrees. As for now, there will be no more walks for me unless I'm extremely hyper or overly-active.

Then, a text came for me. Bad news! I have to sort things back in London. There goes my phone bill. Heh! Definitely someone is going to pay for that. I still can't believe this is still haunting me. This problem should not have occured at all. I'm quite sick of this.

How depressed I am right now? My food consumption tells me. I ate a bowl of instead noodles at 3 p.m for lunch(a very late lunch by my standrads) and yet I'm still not hungry at 9 p.m now. I would usually be rummaging in my room for food after 2 hours. I tried chocolates to make me happy but my Cadbury tasted weird for some reason. It was definitely good yesterday.

Pffffffffft. I suppose I can only wait till tomorrow to solve the problem in London since it is a bank holiday today. As for now, I suppose I better go to the kitchen and whip something up. I still don't have the appetite for anything.

p/s: Thanks Seba for pointing it out. :) My engrish not powderful.

Damn Funny

Well, I took a 30-minute short nap and I asked for a wake up service on MSN using the voice clip function to wake me up.

However, I failed to get up after that time and continued napping. I couldn't help it. My bed was so comfy. The poor messenger had to continue giving me voice clips(the voice was so kawaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii) and I still didn't hear anything. I had messages like 'Oink Oink', nudges and everything to make a lot of noise.

About 50 minutes later, I got up and walked to my table and to my amazement, the phone rang. It was my messenger. Hahahaha. We both had a good laugh. Such a coincidence. I wished I could post the voice clips but I don't know how. Oh well. It is just damn funny lar. :D

Grass House

Few days back, I walked to the big groceries and found this house with a grass. I think that's our caretaker's house. The grass is not green yet because it is still cold. I want London's warmth now!

Happy Birthday Mother

The title says it all. Have a relaxing(which you are since you were sleeping when I called) day and many returns of the day, Mother.

Hope you liked my mini present. I know I do. Kekekeke.

I also dedicate this song to you, Mother. This is one of the most suitable song for this occasion. You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban. Enjoy! :)

p/s: Thanks Ya Teng for helping me out. You will be rewarded as promised. :D

Before the Movie

Oh yea! I forgot. I had a nice meal before going to see Spidey. Yes yes, I know it is sad to go by myself for a meal but no one wanted to see the movie lor. Sad right. Where is everyone you need them. Oh well, that's why I had a nice meal. :D

I just found out that I can't eat a lot these days. No wonder I lost so much weight. Hmmmmmm. And also did some sight-seeing along the way to the cinema. Will describe it later.

The combo grill. Pork Chop, Pork Ribs and Shrimps. Yummy!

Houses along the river. These houses are protected by UNESCO. It is about 300-400 years old.

Gløshaugen campus on the hill. See I told you the place is very hilly!

The oldest bridge in Trondheim. Built in 1690.

The entrance to Nidaros Cathedral. Quite grand I have to say.
