Final Hour

Well, this would be my last 1 hour and 15 minutes in the office working for M-I SWACO Norway. It has been a great experience(and at times boring) to know how the oil and gas industry has become. They certainly has been nice and friendly to me through out and this is quite an invaluable work experience.

Now, I will be applying for my new job here as a Mud Enginner. Yes a Mud Engineer. And also they have Mud Schools. Hehehe.

Last Morning

Well, as the title says today will be my last day of work. I currently don't know what the situation is because my manager today has been non-stop talking on the phone and people. Wish me luck after lunch when I shall see him about my prospects here.

Happy Birthday Malaysia

Today, 50 years ago, the famous seven words our First Prime Minister shouted "Merdeka!, Merdeka!, MERDEKA!" gave birth to a great nation which we all call now Malaysia. The British certainly gave a run for their money giving us the right to rule our own country ourselves. And we certainly proved them wrong.

Even the BBC has made comparison between Malaysia and Ghana who also gained their independence at the same time. But yet, Malaysia has developed and steamed ahead in front in all industries and sectors.

I believe Malaysia is home to the best multi-racial, multi-race, multi-religion country the world has seen. Though we have our differences, we managed to tolerate and find it in our hearts to accept each other through time and understanding.

Okay okay. Enough of all those history and soapy stuff. I'm quite upset because I won't be able to watch the celebration this year because I'm currently in Norway. I would have seen definitely many fireworks display from my apartment and it would have certainly been spectacular.

I am proud to be Malaysian and always be a Malaysian.

Happy Merdeka
Malaysia.

Pink in Bergen

YES!!! She was here for only one night and I went for it. To be honest this is really a spontaneous outing for me. Jee Kwan, my senior just arrived from offshore from the Northern Sea. He informed me about her and I just tagged also. The tickets were 490 NOK(about 45 pounds) and it was open air.

I have to say. Pink is HOT! I rarely say this but she has perfect body. Oh well, the show was good. I definitely had a good time. I haven't heard some of her newer music but it was just da bomb!!! It was more like a party to be honest. Everyone definitely had a pint of lager and beer and danced away.

Before the show.

Free by-standers watching the show.

Jee Kwan. Hehe.

PINK!!! I LOVE YOU!!!

This was where I got beered. Oh well for the sake of a good close-up pictures.

Show your booty!!!

Jee Kwan jamming!!!

Thank you for coming to Bergen and when I'm almost to leave too!!!

I'm now a Pink fan!!! Though I have to say my ears were slightly painful after the concert. And a good antidote to be undepressed! Thanks Pink! You rock!

Mini Mishap

A bit of a tiny mishap happened this morning. I couldn't enter my computer because I kena disabled from the network. So, right now I'm currently using the admin's server to surf and all. If not ah, I will be staring at the 3 same white walls for 8 hours. That's like being in a mental ward!!! Well, hope they don't trace this. Hehe.

I have something to post later. Something I have never ever done before in my life.

Blog Update

I just updated a new blogger into my 'Other Bloggers' list. And guess who it is? It is Mr Patrick Teo himself. Yes, the famous(well, to some 'infamous') radio d.j. I still remember him on the radio and at times I think I saw him in Lake Club. I always hear him in the mornings with Yasmin Yusof and they were pretty funny and ahem ahem rude. Well, to the callers who doesn't speak up etc.

His blog entitled Niamah has certainly been entertaining. But there is always truth about what we think about Malaysia being good for we Chinese. I'm not trying to be political or racist here but these are facts. Oh well, I shall speak no more as I might be detained if I speak out of terms. Hehehe.

I added a new link. Lilian Chan. Another Malaysian blogger which has a big sense of humour.

- Updated -

This time I have added Ewe Thiam. I only have met him twice I think once with Jia Jer and Yew Kuan which they call him Ah Tiah and the other he coming over to my house(to my amazement) for a steam boat party(which I do apologise for the lack of food and variety then because I didn't host that party). Anyway, I thought of finding him since I was bored and guess what. He is doing really great. Kudos to you and good luck with your business. This is the article of him in the The Star newspaper and he was also figured in the Chinese newspapers.

Utopia

Utopia - an imaginary island described in Sir Thomas More's Utopia (1516) as enjoying perfection in law, politics, etc.

But I'm not talking about that heavenly place. More like it's a place for terror and war. Shocking!

Those who have known me since Concord would know that I'm just an addict with this game. I seriously don't know what the attraction or 'dadah' they have in this game is but I just like the dynamics of the game.

Meeting new friends and sharing the same idea to KILL KILL KILL gives me a chance to channel my anger and depression to regain my sanity. I know this is might be crazy talk but seriously, it has been part of my life for nearly 6 1/2 years and still going strong. I can be quite depressed to if the game isn't going well.

Gaining new online friends are also apart of the dynamics of the game. I get to meet hardcore, arrogant, conservative, friendly, outspoken, sexy(for the girl and yes girls do play this) and many more and more over just crazy people who has the same passion with me.

Seph: The king of Utopia in my opinion. He is a nutter but he certainly is one of the best in the game. I always oppose his decision into warring with the kingdoms we do but it turns out to be the best for the kingdom. So, it seems if I say yes to warring most probably we would lose and if I say no to warring most probably we would win this.

Eow: The oldest player around no offence to her. She is a mother of 3 I think and kick ass in the game. But she has always been a figure head of calm and patience. Not to mention, she is the Queen of my kingdom. Hebat hebat.

Pokguy: The first utopian player I have met in real life in Toronto. I never would have imagined that I would meet anyone face to face. He is very very cunning with his words and I still have to watch out for him. He is the only one who knows when I'm pissed, angry and sad. He messages me at the right time and till today, I'm still amazed with him. Thanks bro.

To be honest, I think they are even better than my real life friends. They care for me even I don't know them personally and the best part, they always make laugh.

Cold

I like the cold. Random fact yes. Currently, it's about 8 degrees in Bergen Flesland i.e. area near the airport. And apparently, it's 2 degrees in Røros where Xin Yi visited. Perfect I say but a bit extreme for the idea of a warm summer. Hehehe. Good luck Xin Yi.

As for this morning, ,I'm feeling much better and hope it gets better.

God Natt

Well, it is time for me to sleep. Just watched a bit of The Three Musketeers and Eragon. I'm currently reading Eldest, a sequel to Eragon. The story is developing, so I guess I have to keep on reading. Oh well, my bed is calling now. Good night.

God Kveld

Good evening. I'm back in the room now just resting. I had a nice heart to heart talk with someone in Australia and it was definitely heart warming to see things in another perspective. You know who you are so thank you very much.

Well, I took a short nap. Then I went for dinner and had a proper dinner since my lunch was just a mouthful of pasta. Even my colleagues said why am I eating very little. And they hardly know me. Though I can describe my dinner in 1 word. SALTY! Siao. I think I had taken enough salt to last me for 2 weeks. Seriously, Norwegians should cut down on their salt and sugar.

God Ettermiddag

Well, another post for the day. Good afternoon. I just got kicked out from my office. Well, it wasn't really my office but it was good while it lasted. This new office of mine is very very bare. It just have table and 2 chairs. The black chair I'm sitting on it has a very odd angle bad for the back. I tried to change it but to no avail. Oh crap, it just suddenly bounced!!! Now it's alright. Luckily, I didn't break my back.

Anyway, I went back to my hotel room(I know I shouldn't have but my manager had a meeting) to get a cable and mouse for the laptop I'm using. The office doesn't have the docking system for this laptop so I had to make do with this. Better than me not doing anything and stare at 3 white-painted walls.

I'm still not feeling well but that walk outside certainly did some good. Nice and cold. Refreshing to be honest.

God Morgen

Well, this is quite early for me to blog but oh well. Good morning. I'm still feeling not too well and it seems I'm the only one in the office other than the receptionist at the front desk.

I feel quite light-headed. May be it's because of the dream I had which was wild. Don't really remember about it but I think I was on boat chase or something like that with my parents.

Since yesterday dinner, I started to limp. Seriously, I have no idea why. May be I sat on my hip on one side for too long and my ass/muscle/thigh twitched sometime during dinner.

But now, I'm having this stomach ache and happens all the time. This doesn't help when you feel like throwing up.

What a start to my day.

Not Feeling Well

Somehow I'm just not feeling well. I feel like just throwing up though I suppose it must be the coke and chocolate I ate during the evening. Tham chiak. I know. But it seems that my mouth has a few holes.

But, I believe that this is an indication that this week isn't going to be good. A few things has hit and crumbled me already. I guess I just need stay strong and life has to go on.

Batman Begins

I think I have seen it before in the infamous bus trip to Val d'Isere for skiing. However, this time at the luxury of my room, I watched it. It's quite good and lots of interesting stuff and see how Bruce Wayne started becoming Batman. To be honest, I thought Batman was from Marvel Comics but I guess not. Good show and the next baddie is The Joker. I wonder who will play that. :)

Music and Lyrics

Errrrrr. Okay la. I know it is suppose to be a chick flick but this one is quite teruk leh. I mean compared to The Holiday, this is quite bad. I don't really recommend this. Quite drama but very bland. So okay, 1 1/2 hours pass and next on to my next movie.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Well, another Marvel Action. Well, I'm not really into this one but it's still entertainment since I have absolutely nothing to do right now. So what can I say about this show. Tacky, funny here and there and action-wise okay okay la.

Well, this is quite an old summer 2007 blockbuster. Oh well, now what movie to watch. :)

Will & Grace

After 8 series, I think it's still very funny. It's quite sad how it ended(to be honest I wasn't happy with the ending) but it had to end. Overall, all actors and actresses played their roles really well. I added a synopsis. This show will never be aired in Malaysia.

Will & Grace is a sitcom based around two best friends, Will is a gay lawyer and Grace is a straight interior designer. They both live in New York along with Will best friend and Jack and Grace's rich secretary Karen. The Emmy Award-winning comedy series has remained one of television's highest-rated and most upscale comedies throughout its network run.

To date, “Will & Grace” has been nominated for 73 Emmys, 27 Golden Globes, seventeen SAG Awards and twelve People’s Choice Awards. Among its fourteen Emmy wins, in 2000, the show won for Outstanding Comedy Series. In 2002 and 2003, it had more Emmy nominations than any other comedy series.

Plus, in 2005 "Will & Grace" was tied as one of the most-nominated series and also scored its highest number of Emmy nominations in a single year with 15. "Will & Grace" has also won eight GLAAD Media Awards, two TV Guide Awards, and one Directors Guild Award. Additionally, the show has been nominated for six American Comedy Awards, seven Television Critics Association Awards, and five Producers Guild Awards.

The True Bergen

Finally, the past 3 days, Bergen has been blessed with a flawless blue sky. Of course I went after working hours and strolled the city. I couldn't miss the opportunity that the sky was just blue. Now, it has already started raining and it is going to be raining all week long.

So, what can we see from this pictures I have taken.

Bergen Museum.

See people actually do try to soak up the sun as much as possible.

Lille Lungegårdsvannet.

The houses of Bryggen.

I'm trying to copy the postcard. Same or not? :)

One of the oldest houses here but as you can see it is used for McDonald's. Oh wow!

City hall which is still used till today.

And a nice fire station. Used about 100 years already.

Well, after all of that I went to T.G.I. Friday's(Yes I know they have one here and I'm loving this city every minute) for dinner and had a mud pie. Overkill with the chocolate. Hehehe.

To The Gateway of Norwegian Fjords IV

These are the last pictures(or segment of the fjord tour) I took before heading back to Bergen. And guess what! After 5 hours in the dull, grey, depressing weather, the clouds decided to lift. The sun was then piercing through clouds and finally, I get to see blue skies.

Now, I get the picture of how high the mountains are. The clouds covered about 50% of their height and this certainly showed the magnificence of the fjords. No kidding.

If you noticed, those are glaciers up there. Yes, ICE! I didn't realise that they existed since the clouds were covering them. Celaka.

This is weird. Rainbow out of nowhere.

Finally, the perfect picture of Bergen. Nice picture too. Hehehe.

We ended up eating Chinese food since Miss Goo haven't had it for about 7 weeks. The food was okay okay only la. Can't really compare back to London at least. Hehehe.

Brocophobia

I think it's official and now I can't eat it. I fear it. I have 'brocophobia'. I just can't stand the smell anymore. I used to like but I think the turning point was me eating so much of it in New York and after that, it was just a display of brutal throw ups. Yucks I know. I suppose I was being greedy then.

The Nation's Favourite Food - Dinner

Nationwide poll on dinner for the UK. Where they get these all I don't know. 94% of the people eat their dinners i.e. lazy to cook.

Number 10 - Duck with sauce

Huh. Quite surprise. Though I love my duck from Four Seasons. Duckie duck. That's for meow.

Number 9 - Risotto

Peasant's dish. I hardly eat that. But oh well. It seems the stock is the most important ingredient.

Number 8 - Stuffed Chicken Breast

That's very popular up in the North. But hmmmmmmmm, I never expected it to be so simple. Lol.

Number 7 - Stir Fry

Thank goodness. Very colourful most of the dishes. And it's quite healthy. A stir fry needs a super hot wok that you fear that the oil will splat onto your face. So, you have to be a bit daring yar.

Number 6 - Chilli Con Carne

Student's food. But honestly, I never had one. Invented about 200 years in Texas. Oh wow, something the States invented.

Number 5 - Roasted

All time classic. I love it for Christmas lunch though. But it is easy to do. :)

Number 4 - Shellfish

Yummmmmmmmmmy! My favourite. Though it will lead to high cholesterol and high uric acid.

Number 3 - Fish

Very nice. I love fish. Now, I want to makan steam fish la. :(

Number 2 - Curry

Well, it is a BIG influence. But aiya, the one back in Malaysia is definitely so much different. I suppose they changed it to cater for the British taste buds. Well, the Queen likes curry too.

Number 1 - Spaghetti Bolognese

Oh my. The easiest dish of all time. Well, it is quite easy to do but I nearly died when my hallmate cooking like a week's worth. Nearly dropped dead.

p/s: This post was made like 1 month ago when I was extremely bored and saw it on UK TV. Hehe.

To The Gateway of Norwegian Fjords III

Well, basically visiting the watefall, we just headed back to the port and off we went back to Bergen. However, to our amazement, there was sunlight. The ray of hope I have been yearning for the past 2 weeks. Finally, we could see the fjords in their glory.

Now you get to see the peak of the mountains.

More blue skies.

Look at the contours of the mountains. Used to be glaciers around here.

Just had to take a picture of the sun. It's a rare sight.

Water about 700-900m deep. And very cold too. Don't play play.

Farm land along the fjords. About 3% of the land in Norway can only be used for agriculture.

Look there!!!

Long waterfall.
