Singapore can do anything right. But the news is that he escaped when he went to the toilet. Beat that. Someone is going to pay for it.

KUALA LUMPUR: Indonesia has mobilised its navy, army and police around the Riau archipelago in a major effort to help Singapore track down its wanted terror fugitive Mas Selamat Kestari, an alleged Jemaah Islamiah (JI) head, who had escaped detention in the island state.
A senior Indonesian anti-terrorism police told the Star they are concentrating their search in and around Bintan, Pemping, Bulan, Kelong and Telan islands and several other smaller Indonesian islets nearer to Singapore.
“We don’t think he would have gone far if he has entered the Riau Archipelago.”
He said the navy was despatched to check on trawlers and other smaller fishing boats plying near these islands to prevent Mas Selamat from fleeing to other Indonesian islands.
He said Indonesian police were also monitoring ferry terminals in the Riau Archipelago that provided service to major Indonesian towns and cities to prevent Mas Selamat from escaping to Java or Sumatra.
“We believe once Mas Selamat arrives in Bintan or smaller islands here, he is likely to make his way to Java or Sumatra.”
Mas Selamat had sought refuge in Java and Sumatra when he escaped police dragnet in 2001 when the Malaysian and Singaporean authorities launched a major crackdown on JI activities.
Meanwhile, Interpol yesterday issued an arrest on sight alert - this is the latest global alert that Interpol has sent out as part of a worldwide bid to capture Mas Selamat.
The red alert followed an Orange Notice it posted on its website on Thursday. Mas Selamat, 47, fled from a toilet in the Whitley Road Detention Centre in Singapore on Wednesday afternoon.
The government has said a ''security lapse'' led to his escape.
Mas Selamat, who is known to walk with a limp, is accused of plotting to hijack a plane and crash it into Singapore's international airport.
He was being held under the Internal Security Act, which allows indefinite detention without trial.

why does the police only send in search dogs after 48 hours after each sighting of mas selamat?
if the dogs are reaching too late..and scent is gone.. my as well dont send right?
