A Tragic Beginning With A Good Ending

I would normally shout out loud 'YESSSSSSS. I'm back!' since I have been dreading to come back to London. However, this time I don't think I can do that. Yesterday, it was the ultimate shit day for me. It all started out badly.

I had to take the bus from my halls to the airport and somehow mysteriously, the buses were running on a low frequency i.e. from 10 minutes to 30 minutes. I was shocked because usually the buses are on time and I kinda semi panicked. It seems that because it is the Easter holidays, there are less students in Trondheim therefore not many people will be using the buses. And the bus company decided to run on a lower frequency schedule. Now I know that Trondheim is a student city. Even the town centre was deserted.

After taking 2 buses to the airport(Flybussen - the special bus straight to the airport from the city centre and I feel stupid because I didn't know that they had student prices which means I paid an extra 10KR for nothing), I managed to check-in and pass through costums. It was a bit weird for me this time because the customs took my front page and copied it. That's gotta be a first for my passport to be scanned on the spot. Luckily, I had some time and bought some gifts for the Freshers. I hope they like it and I think it is damn cute too. :)

So, the flight took 1 hour and 50 minutes as usual and landed in Stansted. Kai, you were SO wrong that London had the perfect weather. Going to kick you for that. Oh yea Siew Ping, before I left it SNOWED. Beat that. :P Haha. Anyway, this time immigration in Stansted was really fast like 10 mintues and I decided to take the bus to Baker St since I wasn't pressing for time. Then all hell broke lose.

I lost my hand phone. AGAIN! For crying out loud, this is my second lost in 6 months. I dunno what happened to it but I was certainly making calls out to everyone saying that I was already here. When I got off the bus, I realised in my pockets that one of my phones were missing and I was like '£$&%*%$'. So, I ran back to my house contacted National Express and their lost and found department(By the way, National Express you are terrible in customer service. You sent me on a wild goose chase giving me 6 numbers before I could get some to contact the bus driver which was also crap because the bus driver also didn't know that I was going onto the bus to collect it). Anyway, I managed to get on the same bus which I took but it wasn't there. I did try to call my phone but it was switched off. I think I lost my phone because I got so excited to get off the bus and I didn't really check or put my phone into my pockets. Anyway, if you lose a phone you should go to the Police to claim back insurance. I felt quite demoralised doing this all over again.

Even the police stations were crap. I went to the Marylebone station and there was a queue. There was this fuddy daddy making being so long-winded. And I think they required appointments. So, I decided to go to the station in Regent St and that was faster. Then I went all the way back to call Vodafone and cancelled my line. I was a bit distressed because I had to go out for a dinner appointment and I needed my line. The fastest I could get my sim card was in 2 days and that wasn't fast enough. And my life saviour for the day - Siew Ping. She told me that I could get my sim card in the store immediately. I didn't know that existed so I went out again to Oxford St Vodafone and they gave me a new sim card within 5 minutes. Going to belanja la you, Ping. ;)

So basically, I was running crazy like mad up and down along Baker St. And I also believe in Murphy's Law. It is definitely a shit law when you have a crisis. If you all don't know what it is, go wiki it. Hehe. All the buses were so slow when you want them to be fast. The queues were long for no reasons and when you have nothing important, the queues are always short. So, everything was against me.

Fortunately, the day ended me with a nice and tranquil dinner at a Thai restaurant - Adies. Once again food was great and friends too. Tock, you as always famous of being fashionably late. Hahaha. Miscommunication with Charl huh? Don't worry you made it on time and still ate quite fast. And still had a good talk about you know who. Hah. I love it when we get together.

Anyway, the day ended with me in Wayn's room and me sleeping there. That's gotta be a first for me being very spontaneous. Well, I hope I can get to stay with Kai too. He is going to be a bit busy with his friends so I shall wait.

Well, all in all I hope to get settled in Imperial soon because I have to get on with my work. I have already borrowed my books and hopefully I can get at least my introduction and setup written up.

So, after this, I think I can say, I'm back to settle in for the Easter holidays.

p/s: Ya Teng, please do not say anything this to my parents. You know what will happen ya. Haha.

It Is Time

After 4 LONG days, it is about time for me to go back for London. Well, I wish it was for good but oh well, this will have to make do. I think I better shower to freshen up. I nearly didn't wake up. Hahaha.

London here I come.

A Success!

Well, as you know that I have been talking about the meal I was suppose to cook for 6 people - Bak Kut Teh. It turned out pretty good. Everyone seemed to like it. Taste wise was fairly okay though I don't know whether my tongue was a bit gila after eating a gum before the meal. But I suppose may be I had added too much mushrooms killing off some of the taste. I found it to be slightly less tasteless. I didn't want to put too much soya sauce as people can add their own sauces if want it. My 'salad' - Yew Chai was very good. Yay. I love that veggie too. It is simple and just taste good.

Sorry, no pictures of the food. Everyone just dug in and makan. I was shocked. It wasn't really a late dinner at all. Oh well. I'm happy that everyone liked it. Desserts were some Norwegian cookies which were yummy with Earl Grey tea. How british can we go. My cup of tea with the British accent.

From left to right: Karolina(Polish), Adrian(Malaysian) and Sam(Irish).

Ele(Italian) on the left and Nora(German) on the right. Quite an international mix I say.

Hello Sam. They were having a discussion on potato sacks. The pronunciation of sacks in German is sex?. That was a good laugh. Sorry, Nora.

All in all, the meal was good with great company. Nora did ask me what do I get out of this meal since I paid for everything? I was kinda shocked when she said that. Not many people often say that to me but it has been my honour and pleasure to cook for you guys. And besides, I like to cook but not doing up the dishes. So Nora, you kinda 'paid' in that sense when you did the dishes. I hope we can meet up soon when I get back. As they say, you give and take. Oh well, talking about taking, they were nice to make some buns for me during my trip to Roros. It was good as it has chocolate filling in it. It kinda frozen since it was about -23 degrees then. It was definitely worth going for that trip though I ponteng a Wednesday for that. Hehe.

Now, it is time for me to pack up and go to London.

Less Than 24 Hours

In less than a day, I will be back in London taking the train or bus back to Baker St. After dumping my luggage, I would head off to Imperial to see everyone I suppose and go for dinner with the 4th years. I can't wait for my Thai food. Charl, it better be good ya. :) Sorry little ones. This is only exclusive to the 4th years. I will see you guys on other days okay. Don't worry. I won't forget you all. Anyway, I wonder what my little bro will be doing then. Oi, Kai! What are you doing ah tomorrow?

As for now, I'm preparing my Bak Kut Teh. I hope it turns out well tonight. I haven't really cooked for 6 people. Wish me luck.

Bring It On Again

Gssssssssh. I suppose today is chick flick's day as Meow said. Oh well, I just like this performances that's all. And also growing up with 2 sisters in cheer-leading, it brings back old times memory.

Anyway, this times cheer-leading isn't that great but oh well, it is quite good for my standards. I just love the throwing parts. They are at least about 20 feet up the grounds and my, damn syiok with the music.

Unfortunately, this wasn't a big hit so there isn't much of a poster but this is the winning performance.

Very gothic for my liking. Something different I suppose. :)

Night At The Museum

I had egg squid ball prawn egg noodle soup for tonight. It was quite good I had to say. The ikan bilis stock I have was good and the prawns were yummy of course. Here is my presentation of my dinner. No garnishing unfortunately i.e. corriander leaves etc. Hahaha.

My noodle soup. It was cold after I took all the pictures of it. Boooo. I wanted to make it pretty.

My king prawns. Very good.

Squid balls. Yummy.

The movie for tonight was 'Night At The Museum' by Ben Stiller. It was fuuny. Though hmmmmm. Might be over kiddy for me. These days I hardly laugh at movies. A sign I'm getting matured. Hahaha. Oh well. It was an entertained me for nearly 2 hours. I suppose onto to the next movie. No idea what movie that would be. :)

Bring It On

Oh well, this was my evening movie then; Bring It On. This is the first show. I prefer this to the previous post I made. I think the last 2 routines were good. I managed to find some videos of the routines finally. I wished we had our 'Of Bunga Rayas and Coconuts' on YouTube. I would definitely watch from time to time.

Clovers Routine. Wahhhhhhh.

Toros Routine. Damn good.

Bring It On: All Or Nothing

Ahhhhh. Sunday is always the slowest day for me. Time passes slightly slower and I guess I'm just lazing around doing nothing. So, as my Easter holidays continue and of course my countdown to London is now 1 day and 22 hours, I'm still continuing my movie marathon. After yesterday's inspiring movie 'Step Up', I again wanted to watch something with teamwork. And what better movie to watch cheer-leading. They are all to inspire and most of all, working as a team. I always remember back home in Malaysia that recently they started the Cheer competition between the schools. Well Malaysia, sorry to say this, but we still have A LOT to learn from the West. They are just simply good. I suppose all of them there are just crazy over cheer-leading transforming them into bimbos. At least Malaysians are like that yet.

Overall, the movie was okay. A bit funny with the mix races but I suppose that's reality at times. Cheer-leading as usual was good and a bit different by adding some 'crumpping' - a dance which looks violent but it isn't.

I always remember our MNight, 'Of Bunga Rayas and Coconuts' opening dance had a mini stunt at the ending with a cheer-leading stand. After that dance was over, everyone burst out cheering. Yay! Though I was behind the curtains but after watching on the DVD, it was so great. Everyone that year who saw and performed would concur with me. Even my friend, Sebastian(director of Warwick's MNight that year - a hardcore person to satisfy when it comes to MNights) said after the opening dance, Imperial's MNight was the best. It was damn fine I can assure you that. Oh, this year again for MNight, they did 2 stands. Ahhhhh, my little bro's idea to add those I think. Hahaha. Not bad. Not bad at all. And I loved Kai's one hand cart-wheel. I'm still surprise you could do that. Good job on that. Oh well, I wonder next year they will start tossing people up in the air. May be not. The stage is too small and isn't exactly ideal for dancing or performance of sort. No pressure but make MNight better, Fresher! ;)

Pacific Vista Pirates routine.

Chenshaw High Warriors routine.

Finale. With crumpping where they push the Pirates away .

Also, lunch was simple. Sushi rolls again. I had to use up all my leftover salmon from the other day. Yes I know Charlotte. What a boring variety I have every day for my meals but I want to finish all my food before I go back to London. I can't beat your onion soup but I like Japanese food. I suppose I can go to Hi Sushi where ever that is. :)

Salmon roll. It was good salmon. Very fatty.

Californian roll.

Step Up

"Every second chance begins with a first step."

It is 1.35 a.m and I just finished watching my third movie for today. Gsssssssh. Am I on a marathon or what? Anyway, this time I decided to see this dancing show called 'Step Up'. I'm just in awe how this people can actually dance like that. The dances were modern, contemporary and ballet dancing. It was fantastic. Actually, my friend back in Malaysia danced to one of the soundtracks and managed to get second for a competition organised by The Star. She owes me lunch ya, Ya Teng! ;)

Seeing this, I wonder whether MNight can be that good in the dance department. Hahaha. No offense juniors. Well, of course it will definitely not suit MNight. But who knows. May be the storyline will revolve around dancing this time.

This is the dance which left me in awe. Guys and girls, can you do it? Kai, how about it? I know you want to dance. ;)

I don't think I need to show the trailer. This dance tells it all.

Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story

Quite a nice catch phrase.

The trailer.

Hmmmmm. Tonight's movie was Dodgeball. Quite funny and entertaining. Certainly with their first initial costume when they first came out was a shocker. In general, it was okay.

My meal for tonight was salmon cutlets. It was Charlotte's influence forcing me into making it. I was already preparing to make my salmon steak and an idea came about. Since I had instant mash potatoes(I know I cheated), I just said 'Why not just mix them together'. I did so and it turned not too bad. It was just not as salty as I would like it to be but I suppose I can live without low sodium once in a while.

Well, this was my first attempt making it and I couldn't make it into nicely shaped cutlets but more like a splat onto the pan.

The burnt. The better ones.

The not-so-burnt.

All in all I say it was a good attempt. Yummy.
