The Brink of Law

So chi kek one leh. This is super drama to the end. Loads of deceit, manipulation and tonnes of self-destruction. But how la. The main characters either die, go crazy or die even more. Beats me. I watched this series a bit late because I'm always fighting with my mom for the TV. But I have to say, I guess it was an okay okay series. :)

The leng chai die la. Hai ya. How can like that one. Aihhhhhhhhh. So sad. Hahaha.

The theme song is now in my head. :)

Guys vs Girls

This might be a sexist post but I think it's very odd.

Yesterday, I had a haircut. So someone had to wash my hair first. It was a guy. Issssssh. I felt very very odd. Girls can wash guys and girls hair but not guys with guys. Just geli. I know you want me to say it. It's just pure gayness. Hahaha.

Though a guy cutting a guy's hair. Hmmmmmm, very neutral. Hahaha. Washing hair is very different though.

Let's take some other scenarios.

How about guys wearing a skirt except for a kilt!!! Okay. Now, that's quite obvious. But girls can wear trousers which were only for men then. Ah ha. So how come guys can't do the other way too. Hahahaha.
Guys holding hands. That one no need to say la. Even a girl next to me before was like, "GAY!!! GAY!!! GAY!!!" I feared for my life. But how come girls can hold hands one.

Oh yes, getting a mani and pedi. Loads of perception that it's very gay like. Though the nail artist was it's load of bull. Guys need to pamper themselves too.

I'm not saying I want to do those okay. Not gay here. But it just amuses me what we see in the modern world now. And hey, last time the Greeks and Romans love to have male to male naughty naughty stuff la. You get what I mean. :)

Parliament Session

Okay. Just had a 30 minute glimpse of the first session. For the record Minister of Information, 30 minutes of live parliament seating is way too short.

Anyway, the first 20 minutes is of course the opposition weren't happy. First, they said that the swearing of some of the MP as not valid because they didn't raise their right hand up. Second, they feel cheated that all the questions are all being asked by the BN's MP.

They went on and on and on and on and poor Speaker(may be not poor Speaker in the eyes of the Opposition) keep justifying about his decision is final and fair yet the Opposition kept raising and making a big issue out of it. Yes, it is a technical issue but shouldn't you try to solve the rakyat's problem first then bring the issue up at appropriate time and place.

The PM then answered a question and due to the short time the Speaker said there will be no extra or supplementary questions should be add. Now, that's playing with fire. The Opposition was furious and Ipoh Timur Lim Kit Siang went berserk say that this is a mockery of our Parliament. My my.

However, I give my respect to the PM for standing up and said to the Speaker saying that he doesn't mind answering 2 or 3 questions more. I think it shows that he is willing to listen and shows respect to the Opposition.

Well, that's all we had. 30 minutes mana cukup!!! I want more!!! I think better have a Parliament TV. That will be the best channel for Malaysia for the next coming years. More drama than any soap drama!!! ;)

Malaysian Dreamgirl Winner

It's Cindy alright. Well, to be honest I also don't know who won it since I had to leave because I had to make supper.

Anyway, I heard Hanis was very disappointed not winning it. Among those 3 finalists, I think Hanis deserved to win it. Why? She had the most great pictures taken and definitely, her catwalk was a MODEL. Attitude and more attitude. That's what a model needs.

Compared to Adeline and Cindy, theirs were quite rubbish and unprofessional. Sorry if you girls read this but seriously, your walks are just very lenggang lengguk.

I'm still very tired because I stood for nearly 4 hours straight to see this show. No joke man. I also saw Chris Tock and Timothy Tiah(which I think he forgotten me) down at the runway.

p/s: "Excuse me, can you move a little bit there?" I was asked by a fugly whore(thinking that she so dead gorgeous) to move a side so that she could be with her friends.

Sorry la b***h, your so called accent or whatever you call is crap and below shit okay. Not to mention, you gave me with an attitude voice. You can go to hell la. Those who think their beauty is everything, I have no tolerance for such attitudes.

Terengganu Again

Definitely it was a last minute thing. Going to Terengganu has always been fun. It's all about eating and eating and eating. What else can I do there.

Time passes so slow already you feel you can live for an extra 40 years.

Now, I'm just thinking of plans of mini-decorating something for my dad. I think it's going to be a blast.

Anyway, to all of you in University at the moment and stressing up,

GOOD LUCK!!!

Your exams are quite soon I reckon so just keep on going!!! It will be over soon enough. And haiya, all easy pissie one la.

Smokey Birthday

Well, it isn't really my birthday or anyone's else but it's very how do I say it, smelly leh. I mean it's nice la and all to be with friends and family. But wait wait. I'm not a party pooper here so listen. :)

So my story began when I saw this family of 4 out for a Korean dinner. Most of you know that Korean food is really nice but BBQ is another story. From each hair strand you have to the sole of your feet, you will be covered with smoke and grease.

The smokeier the better they say. :P Like they say, the dirtier the market or hawker stall the better it is eh.

Anyway, with that kind of condition who would want to be dressed really really pretty. My family and I normal don't bath before that dinner and wear the dirtiest clothes we can get.

Mana tau she is wearing this kind of dress. Seriously. I was like O_O! Okay lor you want to celebrate your youth but aunty ah a bit over the top leh. And then you show your cleavage right obvious BIG BIG leh. You have your son and daughter somemore wor. Oh well, celebration of youth. *shrugs*

Well Happy Birthday to you and your son ya. :D I know I'm very kai poh but how not to hear when you are so happy telling the entire world it's your birthday with your son.

p/s: I have nothing against you. It's always good to feel young. :)

Better If Not

I waited for 28 minutes to be connected to an operator. You better be here tomorrow at 6.45 a.m, if not I will kill you!!!

I Feel So Cheated!!!

T_T

I just found out that Amazon is selling their SD card for £5.58 for a 2GB SD card including postage. This is the second time I paid more for a card. Sniff sniff.

I suppose I'm stimulating the digital economy here.

Malaysian Dreamgirl

Well we are at the last round of the competition for this first online reality modeling show. It's also in the Malaysia Book of Records. No surprise then. May be if I made roti canai in space I would be in the book.

There are in the final 3 and it's an okay okay one. Nothing to shout about. The goners are the better ones to be honest. I think the show should change where the voters vote for their favourites. The bottom 2 or 3 should be decided by the judges.

This is the same case with our Malaysian Idol. The one with more money has the last word. Not fair what so ever.

Anyway, the finale would be in One-Utama on Tuesday. So, I guess I could go and watch it. :P

Watch Malaysian Dream Girl here.

Star fruit can be poisonous for kidney patients

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! See la my parents don't believe that star fruit gives me a headache when I drink it. Now, we are NOT going to drink any more star fruit. Yay!!! Though I have to say that it's one of the most shapeful fruits around.

From the Star.

KUALA LUMPUR: All it takes is one fruit or 100ml of its juice and the ordinarily harmless star fruit becomes poison in a matter of hours for kidney patients.

University Malaya Medical Centre consultant nephrologist Prof Dr Tan Si-Yen said this was what had happened to Tang Gon Seang in China.

The 66-year-old, who has been suffering from a kidney ailment, was in Shenzhen visiting his son when fell into a coma on March 29 after eating star fruits.

“Star fruits contain a neurotoxin which is not present in other fruits. It affects the brain and nerves. In healthy persons, the kidneys filter it out.

“In kidney patients, it cannot be removed and worsens their condition,” he said.

More than 10 other patients in the hospital suffered the same condition after consuming star fruits. Two of them died.

After discovering the star fruit connection, Tang has been undergoing dialysis.

His brother-in-law Teoh Thian Lye, 55, confirmed that Tang had been on medication for kidney problems for three years.

The family sought the help of MCA Public Complaints and Services Department head Datuk Michael Chong to transfer Tang back to Malaysia as the family could not afford the hospital bill of RM1,000-RM2,000 a day in intensive care.

According to Dr Tan, there was little awareness of this relatively new discovery and no local cases yet.

“The public must be alert to reactions to star fruit. Look out for initial symptoms including hiccups, numbness and weakness, and neurological symptoms including confusion, agitation and epileptic fits,” he said.

“The risk of death is high,” he added.

Terrible Sleep

Need to shake all these emo-ness in me. Make me until I can't sleep. Nasib I'm not going to work today.

Now, I wonder what I will be doing now?

Olympic Torch in KL

Such a shame that I wanted to watch this run. This is the second time we have ever hosted this run so I guess it should be once in a lifetime thing to do as a Malaysian right.

Ah ha. But what happens if you see this from a far. Would you be thinking twice? It just gives me shivers all the time. Anyway, the papers said that the run would continue whether it shined or rained. Obviously with Malaysia's weather, the latter is always there in the evening.

It just makes me wonder. The torrential rain like ours would certainly extingush the fire leh. I wonder did that happen. Lol. But I guess not.

Well done Malaysia and can we next host the games. Please please.

Better Monday

The Murphy's Law will kick in after I say this but don't care la. I feeling much better and thanks for a small text I received this morning. Thanks a lot bro. Although it was a simple and not relevant emotion text but at least I got something. Hahaha.

You are the best.

:)

Emptiness

I feel totally empty. I guess it's time for action less talk. Though action is louder than words and certain action can REALLY HURT you. It's like stabbing the heart 10,000,000 times.

Emo bemo as they say it.

Hunger Strike

Well, the title says it all. I guess it's a good way to lose weight too.

Just Kill Me

Every day is always a better day. NOT!!! I had a very painful tummy ache at 5 a.m. Now, my stupid game is not working and I'm dying here. It's just getting worse.

Just kill me la.

Suckkkkkkkkkkky Saturday

I just want to scream out loud. F F F F. I'm sure you all know what it is. But seriously, it's quite a shitty day and it's like spiraling out of control. I suppose the day will get better which I doubt it.

T_T

The Forbidden Kingdom

So, a Saturday movie. Well, what can I say. With Jackie Chan, it's just comedy la. But I think it's quite fun. Everyone had a good laugh. Just that I hate with bits of CGI. Looks really BAD. Go watch it.

Hair Explosion

I know when you wake up your hair isn't exactly in the perfect shape, angle, height, etc etc la. But when I woke up this morning, my hair was like this. The Saiyaman. All the has was like staying up. Of course I'm not going to take an ugly picture of myself. :P

Some people said last time when I was YOUNGER, that my hair had an explosion inside. Boo hoo. Oh well. Can't blame me if I have a lot of hair. Ah ha. At least I won't grow BALD!!!

At least, with tall and thick hair, I can gain a few inches like Marge Simpson. :)

Spoilers Do Suck

Damn. Couldn't wait for this series to finish. It's just too much drama. Now, I just hate the ending. Boo hoo.

T_T

I will still see it though if I don't fight with my parents for the TV. :P

What? What? What?

Don't you ever get annoyed just keep hearing?

What? What? What?

After repeating 3 times the same answer. I mean I'm already screaming my lungs out and yet you still can't hear me. So fine, the line is bad then I call back isn't it? Then get angry with me pulak. Blah.

Just spoilt my night after having yummy fish.

MAY-hem

Well, there is something to happen during that time and I'm sure it's going to be soooooo tiring.

p/s: Anyone going back from London to KL on the 1st of June.

Under threat? What threat?

Just some late night reading. Inspiring ain't it. I know it's a bit long but hey, it's nice. Enjoy!

From the Star.

By AZMI SHAROM

Since the recent general election, voices have risen up in a shrill warning cry that the Malays are now ‘under threat’. But perhaps the real threat is the threat to Umno hegemony.

AND so it begins. Race-based rhetoric has raised its ugly little head in response to a democratic process. Over 49% of the people of Malaysia have voted for parties that have rejected race-based affirmative action in favour of a needs-based platform.

It did not take very long for voices, both common and royal, to rise up in a shrill warning cry that the Malays are now “under threat”.

“Under threat” from what, may I ask? Let’s take a bit of time to look at this so-called “threat”. Firstly, Malays are given special protection under Article 153 of the Constitution.

Article 153 is titled “Reservation of quotas in respect of services, permits, etc, for Malays and natives of any of the States of Sabah and Sarawak”. Article 152 states that Malay is the National Language. The Supreme Head of the Federation, according to Article 32, is the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, a Malay ruler.

This is the foundation of Malay “special privileges”.

None of the Pakatan Rakyat component parties, including the DAP, have said anything about removing Articles 153, 152 and 32. They remain safe and secure with no sign whatsoever of any sort of threat.

Besides, in order to change it, you would need a two-thirds majority in the lower and upper houses of Parliament plus the support of the Conference of Rulers. The last time I checked, no one has a two-thirds majority in the Dewan Rakyat.

Secondly, due to simple demographics, it is unlikely that a totally non-Malay party is ever going to win absolute control of the government. Of the five state governments in the hands of the Pakatan, four are led by a Malay Mentri Besar.

Penang is an exception, but Penang has been led by non-Malays since the 60s. Why was there was no outcry before this?

Thirdly, the proposed doing-away with the NEP (or whatever it is called nowadays), I suppose, can be seen as a threat to the Malays.

But how it can be a threat is beyond me, because the replacement suggested by the Pakatan is not some sort of laissez-faire capitalist economy. Instead, it is an economic system with affirmative action promised to those in need.

If the Malays are the largest group of people in Malaysia who are in the most need, then they will get the most help. If they are not in the most need, then why on earth do they need help then?

This is the point where I will get angry letters about how the NEP is needed; because in the business world – the real world which I know nothing about because I am just a lowly-academic trapped in my ivory tower – Malays are discriminated against by the Chinese. So we need a policy like the NEP to provide some balance.

I disagree.

If there are racist business policies being conducted against the Malays, then you face it head on with anti-discrimination laws.

If some person feels he is being discriminated against, no matter what his race, then let there be a law to help him, and let us punish the racists with a hefty fine or jail term.

You do not meet racism with racism; you challenge it by destroying all traces of it.

The problem with the NEP, as I see it, is that it breeds a mentality of entitlement based on race and not merit. This mentality seeps into governance, and it creates an atmosphere of mediocrity. One example of this is how the Constitution has been disregarded in relation to employment issues.

The Federal Constitution states that you can set quotas at the entry points of government services, for example, the civil service and public universities. However, this is counter-balanced by Article 136 that says all federal employees must be treated fairly regardless of race.

This means that once inside a service, everyone is to be treated equally based on merit. In such a situation, only the cream will rise to the top.

However, since the introduction of the NEP, the practice in government services has been to promote Malays mainly. This has in turn led to a drop in the number of non-Malay actors in the service of the public.

Taking my profession for example, the closeted unrealistic world of academia, I look down south and I see that 30% of the staff in the National University of Singapore Law School are Malaysians.

How come these clever fellows who are good enough to teach in a university that is among the top 20 in the world are not here in the land of their birth? Why are the blinking Singaporeans enjoying our talent? Is it because that talent is all non-Malay and they feel they have better opportunities there than here?

This is a complete waste, and in the end this loss of talent means a loss for the university, the country and the people of this country, including the Malay students who miss out on the best possible teachers.

Perhaps the real threat is the threat to Umno hegemony, in which case my answer to that is this: clean up your act, live up to your promises and listen to what the people are saying.

Make yourself electable by proving that you can create good government.

That is called democracy.

Dr Azmi Sharom is a law teacher. The views expressed here are entirely his own.

Low Blood Pressure

Headache only and whole day. Eh. Last time because I don't exercise but now I do okay. May be I'm lacking of food since I cut down about 40% of my food intake. At least burn off my tummy fat lor.

T_T

At least it's better than having high blood pressure. Aihhhhhhhhhh.

Hong Kong Beauties

Of course after watching a lot of Chinese dramas, you can't stop noticing these actors and actresses. They are drop dead gorgeous, pretty, handsome, yau yeng and all you can describe about beauty la. For now, we go Asian. Let's take for example.

Sonija Kwok

Famous actress and doesn't she look pretty and beautiful!!! Well of course she is also Miss Hong Kong. As you most know that she acts for a lot of TVB series.

In A Step into the Past with Louis Koo but her dressing made her like a goddess. No question about that.

Charmaine Sheh

She also Miss Hong Kong winner. Not really a beautiful as Sonija Kwok but I think it's one of the best Hong Kong actresses. Her hair has to do a lot with her look. I prefer her to have long hair. :P

And for the guys.

Kevin Cheng

He now is a different case. He was born in the States. You know where I'm getting at now eh? How come people born abroad so good looking one. Hahaha. Sounds gay but serious la!!! Give me the chills only. Not yau yeng and charming meh? His smile can melt anything away.

Hawick Lau

Just hate it when they have weird weird English names. Why not call yourself banana eh? :D

But nevermind about that. He is different than the other actors because he has the cute boy and goody two shoes face. Lol. Every thing I read about him is all about cute, cute, cute and nothing else. Oh well. :) Oh yea did I forget where he is from? From CANADA!!!

So you can see where I'm getting at where you are born, you will get gorgeous looking people. Muahahahaha. Just kidding. :P Anyway, of course there are more beautiful people out there. The Koreans. Goodness. Can't stop hearing it from my crazy girl friend's about Korean dramas.

Edison Chen Back to Spotlight with New Film

Long time never hear anything about him. Miss him already. Hahahaha.

I suppose the actor made his comeback. Oh well, I suppose it's better than just rotting away. So, I guess no more news about him eh.

Edison Chen (L) and Hong Kong actress Hsu Chi [File Photo: gb.cri.cn]

Hong Kong singer-actor Edison Chen, the focus of the celebrity nude photo controversy, will come back to the spotlight to cooperate with Hong Kong actress Hsu Chi in shooting a romance movie invested by an American independent film studio.

The agent companies of the two stars have confirmed the news, and said the investor doesn't care about Edison's photo incident, and thought his privacy has little connection with his acting career. So they contacted Edison in the first place, for they thought he is the most suitable actor to visualize the character described in the script.

The agent company also disclosed that Chen is going to start shooting this summer. Meanwhile, there are also some other western film producers who have expressed their wishes to cooperate with Edison.

Just Do It

Sounds like the Nike ad eh. But whatever la. Just going to shut up and just do what I'm told. I don't need to talk anymore. I guess my new friend would be the walls in my room.

Cheerios.

Malaysian PM hints at hand-over

Oh my. Not that I'm shocked or surprise but what to do. Lose so badly have to go. At least he didn't lose his seat like John Howard did. So, if Pak Lah goes then Najib leh. Not that it's much better or anything.

Hmmmmmmmm.

From the BBC.

Malaysia's embattled Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi has signalled he would support a transition of power to his deputy.

The move comes after the government suffered its worst ever showing in last month's general election.

Since them Mr Abdullah has been under intense pressure from within his own party to step aside.

While his UMNO party won the election, the surge in opposition support left him vulnerable.

He has spent the past few weeks repeatedly resisting calls for his resignation - but did admit that he is partly to blame for the disastrous poll results.

Calm nerves

Now there are strong signs that he does not intend to fight on for much longer, says the BBC's Robin Brant, in Kuala Lumpur.

At a meeting with members of his party on Friday, Mr Abdullah said he would discuss a transition with his deputy Najib Razak.

The deputy prime minister's spokesman told the BBC he could not comment on the timescale, but the focus is on party elections due in December. A handover could come then or at some point in 2009.

Last month's general election saw the opposition win unprecedented levels of support in both parliament and state government.

By agreeing to discuss a transition the prime minister hopes to calm nerves of both investors and politicians.

Vantage Point

Okay if you didn't see the first 30 minutes of this show, please watch it from the beginning. 8 points of view is certainly confusing. I get the story of course but instead from A - Z, it's from A, F, E, W, C, Q something like that.

Overall, the show wasn't too bad. Reviews are a bit mixed about this. Ok la. A nice movie to just relax and they exploded the plaza more than 6 times. So, you are in for a treat with loud boooooooooooms!!!

Michael Johns out!!!

Oh my godtok!!! How can Michael be out!!! This is impossible vegetable laaaaaaaa. I believe there would be a trump card somewhere for him to return. But I don't think this is the line for him. I'm sure the record companies will go after him.

The best performance for him.

Gundam 00

This gundam series just ended but it will continue in October so they say. So far, reviews have been very good and it's as good as Gundam Wing. I have to say there is not many repeated graphics and animated moves which I absolutely like. :P

For this series, the mecha is very cool bananas. Though I don't think I can collect them. My shelf has no more space la. :(

Plot Summary:

It is the year A.D. 2307. Fossil fuels on Earth have been depleted entirely, with mankind turning to the next available power source: solar energy.

During this time, 3 orbital elevators with solar power generation systems are built, each under control by the Union of Solar Energy and Free Nations (formerly United States of America), the Human Reform League (Russia, China and India) and the Advanced European Union.

However, not all countries are able to enjoy the benefits of this system, leading to widespread resentment and war.

Arising out of the conflict, a mysterious military organization known as Celestial Being appears, dedicated to end all warfare using Mobile Suits called Gundam.

This begins the stories of Gundam Meisters (pilots) Setsuna F. Seiei, Lockon Stratos, Allelujah Haptism and Tiera Erde as they are thrown into conflict between the 3 superpowers and the various other factions.

Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You

I love you, DAP

Hahahaha. Okay. May be that's over the top but to get a reply for my stupid question, it's sure very very 'touching' and 'moving' to answer my question. This is very assuring.

My question is as follow:

Dear DAP,

Congratulations to DAP for being elected in my constituency, Segambut we had recently. I am currently residing in Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur and I would like to contact my representative Mr Lim Lip Eng as I would like to raise some issues in my area to him.

I would really appreciate if I could get his contacts and especially his e-mail address if possible.

Thank you very much and I hope to hearing from you soon.

Best Regards,

Mr Chee

And their reply was:

Hi,

Apologise for the delay in forwarding this email to you. The DAP server went down during the height of the GE and caused a lot of distruptions to our ability to respond to public emails and enquiries. We are currently back to normal operation but there are still thousand of emails such as this pending.

Pls go to http://dapmalaysia.org/newenglish/au_er_sa.htm and http://dapmalaysia.org/newenglish/au_er_p.htm for all our elected reps' contact details.

Regards,
Foo YC

Not bad eh. Well, I found it before they replied to this email but hey, at least I got a respond. Made me very happy.

Series' Are Back!!!

Just a quick note. All series' are back online now. After 3-4 months of hiatus' and stupid writers strike at least some are getting along just fine.

Talking about series' at least one series doesn't need writers to write them. You guessed it. :)

American Idol.

And oh oh. Our favourite foul-mouthed chef, Gordon Ramsey. His show Hell's Kitchen.

Sandwich Power

A typical staple diet for the orang putih. You have BLT, egg and mayo, tuna and sweetcorn etc etc. It's fast, easy and cheap to make. Some even say that it's the fuel during the exams.

So as usual, I decided to have a Norwegian sandwich in Ikano. The sandwich was very yummy. Very typical Norwegian with its mustard and pickles. And it was big! Here I was thinking I'm sure to lose weight.

Guess what it didn't!!! I mean at 2 p.m I was already hungry. Like very hungry. I had a bowl of assam laksa. So much for dieting eh.

The Nanny Diaries

I'm a FREAK!!!

Yea yea. Most of you will agree with that statement but seriously. I am a very very very disfigured human.

Firstly, I have a super tiny feet for my height. Serious!!! I should be wearing a size 8 1/2 - 9 at least but I have to wear a size 7!!! Even girls can wear my shoes and they feel tight. They are of course much shorter than me. That's like 2 sizes down.

However, it seems that my feet doesn't expand or extend more than 0.5 inch when I stand up from sitting down which is very good. This is crucial especially you want to get hiking shoes.

I thought that was bad. Now, I just found out that I have very very very long arms. WTH?!?! Even the tailors were like, 'Oh my. I never seen such long arms for your height.' An extra 2 inches from the usual. Like this lor. Extra long arms. Aihhhhhhhhhh. This is making me more depressed.

T_T

Update on my freakiness!!!

I forgot to mention that I have a big head too. This list seems to be never ending!!!

Kawaii Turtle!!!

Not as fuzzy and furry. But, I think they are one of the most elegant and calm creatures around. They know how to chill.

We must need do our part to preserve and converse them for the future generation.

Help WWF in their projects and especially the Freedom Flipper Project. Thanks.

p/s: The turtle you see now is kept under a special project done by the Marine Department. The turtles will be release soon they are bigger enough to face the outside world.

Flowers To No End

Roses and more roses!!!

And we have wild flowers.

My long lost cousin from Terengganu is a great florist. She had done 2 majestic arrangement for my parents. She has 3 florist shops in Glen Eagles Hospital, Phileo Ampang and now a new one in the Gardens.

Thanks a lot Cat. :)

Tiger Power

I always say Terengganu has the best prawns. They certainly too. These 3 prawns you see weigh about 1 kg. The picture doesn't justify the weight of it. It's definitely very yummy. All went down my tummy food. :P

Friday, 4 April 2008

Terengganu Again

Off I go now. Again. Though this time it's everyone's responsibility to go back for Qing Ming. I haven't done it for like 6 years I think. Oh well, time to do it again.

Will be out for 40 hours as usual.

Like A Knife Into The Heart

I feel like this now. Ok may be not exactly and everywhere lol but seriously. Aihhhhhhhhhhhhh! Am I losing my sanity? A.D.D la I think.

Malaysia Today

Wah. Politics in Malaysia can't stop getting the highlight now eh. PM 'resigns' and such. Well, most people think he should resign. Sometimes, it's best to go out with grace. Just can't imagine if he losses his party presidency. Though this isn't like John Howard(the Australia PM who lost his own seats) but it's quite similar.

So many things are unveiled now. It's good to weed out corruption and inefficiency etc etc etc. But don't go over and over and over and over and over it too much okay? Can we just go on and develop the country PROPERLY? That's what the rakyat want I think.

This Is Just Idiotic and Stupid!!!

Now this is quite a long post with 2 articles. But I just want to see who are the idiots among idiots jackasses who thought of this plan. Not to mention the government approving these plans.

Isn't it just a waste of money? If they know that these hubs are going to be expanding so fast, isn't it better to just make the new LCCT now(read the second article for further explanation) and get ready for 25-35 million people per year or whatever the number is!?!? Why keep expanding when you PLAN or CAN to build a super one and end of story.

And besides, if you say that it's pointless to get ready for such a big number of passengers so early? Is it? Is KLIA built for 100 million people NOW? Of course not!!! But PRECISE and INTEGRATED expansion will lead to the super expansion(there is land for another satellite building for international terminal next to the current one if you haven't noticed). That's why I believe Dr Mahathir had a vision and this vision has been side-tracked by a long shot.

I also don't think it's justifiable to just expand this for the FUTURE cargo hub. The more important plan now is the LCCT NOT the FUTURE cargo hub which by the way, isn't doing that great. What a blunder again for Malaysia.

From the Star again.

LCCT to be bigger and better on the 1st April 2008.

THE number of passenger arrivals at the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT-KLIA) in Sepang is expected to reach nine million by the end of this year, an increase of 1.4 million from last year, said Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) senior general manager (operations) Datuk Azmi Murad.

And in line with this MAHB has made expansion plans for the LCCT and the project starting next month is expected to be completed in eleven months.

“The project will be located next to the LCCT international departure area and would increase the terminal’s capacity by 50%,'' he said during the LCCT-KLIA second anniversary celebrations held at the LCC Terminal.

Also present were MAHB chairman Tan Sri Dr Aris Othman and managing director Datuk Seri Bashir Ahmad.

However, he added that it is imperative that the expansion be completed on time due to the increase in the number of passenger arrivals on AirAsia and the Tiger Airways that services the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore route.

Meanwhile Aris said that the expansion is expected to increase the capacity of LCCT from the current 10 million to 15 million passengers annually.

“We should reach our maximum capacity once the expansion project is completed. We want to improve the level of comfort for airport users,'' said Aris.

Aris said the LCCT currently houses AirAsia, Thai AirAsia, Cebu Pacific Airways, Tiger Airways and AWAIR operations.

At the ceremony MAHB rewarded Muham-mad Khairuddin Abdullah from Shah Alam for being the 8.3 millionth domestic passenger and Simone Schuil from Holland, the 14.4 millionth international passenger of LCCT.

and now for the shocker............

LCCT may become cargo hub when new terminal is up on 2 February 2008.

SEPANG: Malaysia Airports Holding Bhd is considering turning the existing Low-Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) into a cargo transportation hub when the new LCCT is ready in the next three to four years.

This was one option being considered, said managing director Datuk Seri Bashir Ahmad.

He said the shift to the new location was imminent as the LCCT would not be able to accommodate the projected growth in passenger volume. The LCCT has the capacity to handle 10 million passengers annually. This capacity would increase to about 15 million passengers upon completion of renovation work by year-end.

“Expansion work on the LCCT will commence by end of this month,” Bashir said after welcoming Tiger Airways, the second Singapore Airline-owned low-cost carrier to utilise the LCCT.

On the new LCCT next to the KL International Airport (KLIA) main terminal, he said it would handle 25 million to 30 million passengers annually.

He also said an announcement on a theme park in KLIA would be made in the next two to three months.

With its inaugural flight yesterday, Tiger Airways has become the 56th international airline to fly to KLIA.

“The arrival of Tiger Airways is a good indication particularly for LCCT-KLIA towards attracting more airlines.

“The service will further strengthen air connectivity between Malaysia and Singapore as it complements the current service by Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airlines,” he said.

AirAsia and Jetstar Asia also started flying the same route yesterday.

Tiger Airways took to the skies from Singapore in September 2004 with two aircraft in its fleet and three routes in its network. Within three years of operation, it now flies to more than 25 destinations across eight countries in Asia Pacific on a fleet of brand-new Airbus A320 aircraft.

MAS buys 35 planes

WARNING: This is going to be a boring post. But I think I would to express it's about time that MAS upgrade all their Boeing 737 fleet. The planes are soooooooooooooooooooooo old even I fear that it's going to break into two any day. I have been flying with it recently and it isn't fun being an aeronautical engineer what might happen!!!

I know they still need to profit from the current losses but at least(and I hope) it's the right decision. There is another news which is slightly disturbing too.

From the Star.

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia Airlines (MAS) is buying 35 aircraft with an option for 20 more of the narrow body Boeing 737-800 which will cost the carrier a total of US$4.2bil.

The national carrier also decided that it still wants the super jumbo A380 although it would have to wait until 2011 for the aircraft to be delivered.

In a statement yesterday, MAS said a firm order had been placed for 55 B737-800 at the list price of US$4.2bil (RM13.39bil). It is unclear at this point whether the carrier would eventually get a discount on the large order.

But the order will put MAS in good stead as these aircraft are said to be more fuel efficient per passenger per mile than others. The short- to medium-range airplane has a fuel capacity of 6,875 US gallons, or 0.1387 gallons per passenger per mile, and can fly up to a range of 3,060 nautical miles.

MAS said it intends to use the aircraft for the Asean region, including the domestic sector and China and India.

“Clearly we are gearing ourselves to benefit from the growth of this region, which is projected at 6% per annum,” managing director/CEO Datuk Seri Idris Jala said in the statement.

Jala said aircraft for the airline's core network would always be the latest in terms of technology and “we will likely partially purchase the B737-800 on our own and partially lease them as that would give us the flexibility to manage our balance sheet and financing commitments and sell some of them when the timing is right.”

MAS first announced its fleet replacement plan last year. The airline currently has 111 planes in use, of which 90% is leased from its parent, Penerbangan Malaysia Bhd (PMB).

Chief executive officer Tengku Azmil Zahruddin was reported to have said that the airline had a healthy cash position of RM5.3bil to purchase aircraft.

MAS also has the option to swap the B737-800 for the larger B737-900 as part of its plan to transform MAS into the world’s “five-star value carrier''.

To Jala, the new fleet would form a strong platform for MAS to grow profitably. The aircraft are not expected to be delivered until the next few years when the global economic situation would be less of a concern.

The B737-800s are expected to be delivered from September 2010 onwards and would be replacing the airline's B737-400 fleet.

On the six A380-800, MAS said the first delivery was expected next January and the sixth in August 2011. Technical problems at Airbus have resulted in delays in the plane maker's delivery schedule.

Even Singapore Airlines, the first customer for the A380, got its first aircraft only late last year.

MAS was to have taken first delivery in January 2007 and the sixth in December. The statement did not say if MAS had been compensated for the delay.

But Jala believes it would be good to keep the A380 order although the airline could have cancelled it. Airbus claims that the A380 burns 17% less fuel per seat than other big aircraft, thus reducing the carbon footprint per passenger.

“We are now looking at wide body aircraft replacement and will intensify our discussions with the manufacturers.

“MAS is committed to expanding its network for the medium and long haul market,” Jala added.

Origins of April's Fool

What is April Fools Day and how did it begin?

From somewhere la. :)

Well, that is a very good question. The origin of this holiday is rather uncertain. However, the common belief holds that during the reformation of the calendar the date for the New Year was moved from April 1st to January 1st. During that time in history there was no television or radio so word spread slowly.

There were also those who chose to simply ignore the change and those who merely forgot. These people were considered "fools" and invitations to non-existent parties and other practical jokes were played on them. "All Fools' Day" is practiced in many parts of the world with practical jokes and sending people on a fool's errand.

Others believe that the origin began with celebrations at the Spring Equinox.

Anyone fallen for any jokes or such? I guess I'm too old for this.

Succumb to BR! :(

Ok la. I have to confess. Paiseh a bit. Ok la. A lot.

I tried my luck again for Baskin Robbins yesterday and it was still bad from the previous visit. There were hordes of people and to make it even worse, there were 20 people ahead of me. The shop was just packed with people and poor me had to wait for

1 HOUR

to get about 4 quarts and 2 pints of ice-cream. Eh! Don't I sound like the TNMCHCCB guy who bought 7 tubes. Don't worry, although I bought that many but it was for a friend. Serious!!! My friend bought 2 quarts and 1 pint. The other tubs were for my parents and some neighbours. Sikap kejiranan eh. :P The difference was we had it then and there. Compared to that dick buying to stock up for 2 months I suggest and will come back for more in 2 months time.

MALAYSIA DON'T HAVE ICE-CREAM MEH!!! GO TO WALLS AND BUY LA!!! CHEAPER WHAT!?!?

But all I can say is that I will NEVER EVER do this again. Although 31% is a lot but I think I would pay for the normal price for a more tranquil, stress-free buying ice-cream experience!
