‘Final warning’ on rear seat belts
First of all, people already beat the red traffic lights especially those damn motors! Those are the ones causing the accidents. DUHHHH! And that's like the first rule of driving. STOP AT RED LIGHTS. NOT GO FASTER!
How about those who has those damn white blinding lights at night. I thought it was banned but does the enforcement take place. You can answer that. Also how about tinting the windows with ultra dark films. Also banned but it's everywhere.
Then you have those in kampung not wearing helmets. Does the police even bother summoning them? NO. Though I have to admit, it won't be kampung if they don't wear their helmet.
But of course safety comes first.
So, what's the point in asking we people to wear the rear selt belts where enforcement is like #@$*@#&%*(@#&*#@$&#@$&#@!
From the Star.
PETALING JAYA: From Tuesday, motorists whose passengers are not belted up will be stopped by police. However, instead of summonses, they will be issued “advisory notices.”
The ruling comes into effect on Jan 1, after which the police will issue summonses. Road Safety Department director-general Datuk Suret Singh said the advisory notice was a final warning to motorists on the new ruling.
“It is not a summons but we will take down the car’s registration number, driver’s name and MyKad number, date, time and place they were caught flouting the law,” he said after launching a campaign advocating road safety here Friday.
He said motorists should not have the mentality of “wearing the seat belt only when they see the police” as the ruling was for the safety of passengers.
Suret Singh said research had shown that wearing seat belts saved the lives of 200 backseat passengers every year.
“Half of the accident victims were saved from severe and minor injuries by wearing rear seat belts,” he said.

I attended a higher management training *cough cough* (the next CEO in the making man! Muahahahahahaha!), and it was really interesting. You would never imagine what have people to turn around a company or of course embezzled the company but in thousands but in hundreds of millions!
What to do. We have people like that in the world.
Ahhhhhhhh. On the second note, Barack Obama won! Yay. Very happy about that. Hope we can see big big changes in that country and not to mention our country about our political future.

Health Ministry stepping up no-smoking enforcement
As for them finding ignorant restaurants which doesn't follow this law, just go to the hotels first. Don't need to scan the mamak place etc(if they ever have air-con and no smoking place).
Thank you very much, Mr DAP Segambut. :)
From the Star.
KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Ministry is stepping up enforcement against smokers who light up in non-smoking areas.
Action would also be taken against restaurant owners who allowed smokers to puff away at non-smoking sections, said its minister Datuk Liow Tiong Lai.
“Air-conditioned places such as restaurants must have separate smoking areas with their own vacuum system to prevent other parts of the premise being polluted,” Liow told reporters after launching Health Day here on Sunday.
“We will increase the number of raids and checks to ensure rules are abided by,” he added.
The intensified measures to stop the offence were decided after the ministry received various public complaints of smokers who refused to put out their cigarettes despite “No Smoking” signs being displayed.
Liow said the ministry would also try working together with shopowners to bar children below 18 years of age from buying cigarettes.
Those caught smoking at prohibited places and premise owners who neglect the rules face a maximum fine of RM10,000 or two years jail or both.
I'm in loveeeeeeeeeeee

Finance crisis: in graphics
Remember, nothing is too good to be true.
From the BBC.
It is shaping up to be one of the most tumultuous times on record in the global financial markets.
The financial landscape is going through a period of upheaval with some major firms folding, other operations merging and a limited number of companies in both the Europe and the US, being rescued at a governmental level.
THE CASUALTIES
As the global financial crisis has worsened, the number of firms to crumble or be bought out has increased.
US BAIL-OUT
Governments have spent billions of dollars on rescue packages, led by the US with its $700bn rescue package.
SHARE PRICES
Banks have continued to suffer the steepest falls in share prices. HBOS share prices fell sharply on Tuesday, down 26% at one point, before picking up again.
Royal Bank of Scotland shares have followed a very similar downward path. The bank suffered a pre-tax loss of £691m in the first six months of 2008, the second biggest in UK banking history.
US bank Merrill Lynch was taken over by Bank of America on 15 September prompting an initial recovery in shares, but they have since dipped again.
Fortis shares were falling sharply until a rescue deal was mounted by European banks on 29 September.

Central banks cut interest rates
The UK rate move - which had not been expected until Thursday - puts interest rates at 4.5% from 5%.
The US Federal Reserve has cut rates from 2% to 1.5% and the European Central Bank trimmed its rate from 4.25% to 3.75%.
The central banks of Canada, China, Sweden and Switzerland all took similar action in the co-ordinated move.
The unprecedented step is aimed at steadying a faltering global economy and slumping stock markets.
The Fed said that it had acted "in light of evidence pointing to a weakening of economic activity and a reduction in inflationary pressures".
Malaysian PM 'to quit in March'
From the BBC.
Malaysia's Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has announced that he will step down from office in March.
The move will effectively hand power of the ruling National Front coalition Umno, and therefore the job of prime minister, to his deputy Najib Razak.
Mr Abdullah has been under pressure to quit since disastrous election results earlier this year.
He has faced discontent within his own party, and also an increasingly strong opposition led by Anwar Ibrahim.
"I am now announcing I will not seek the presidency of Umno in the upcoming elections. I want a party that is united," Mr Abdullah told a news conference.
By tradition, the president of Umno is leader of the coalition government and therefore prime minister as long as the coalition is in power.
"I hope Najib will be my successor, I believe he can win," Mr Abdullah told reporters.
Switching allegiance
Mr Abdullah resisted pressure to resign in the immediate aftermath of the election result in March, in which the government lost its two-thirds majority in parliament for the first time since Malaysian independence.
Many of Umno's traditional supporters from the majority Malay community switched allegiance to Anwar Ibrahim's multiracial coalition, the People's Alliance.
In the months after the polls, Mr Abdullah hammered out a plan for a transition of power to Mr Najib in 2010, but his critics still remained unsatisfied.
Mr Anwar is now threatening to bring down the government with parliamentary defections from the National Front.

Anwar claims more than 31 MPs will cross over
From the Star.
PETALING JAYA: Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has claimed that more than 31 Barisan MPs have agreed to cross over to Pakatan Rakyat.
He, however, refused to reveal the names of the 31 MPs.
Anwar told a press conference at the PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya on Tuesday that he would give the list of the names to the Prime Minister when he meets him.
The Permatang Pauh MP also claimed that the transition to the new Government has been delayed a few days pending the meeting with Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to ensure a smooth and peaceful transition.
“The numbers are increasing by the hour, but as of now, it is in excess of 31 MPs.
"This is not empty talk. I am fully responsible for my statement but we have choose to be patient and use the conciliatory way,” the PKR adviser said.
He called on Abdullah to meet with him, where he said he would even give the Prime Minister the names of Barisan MPs wanting to defect to the Pakatan Rakyat alliance of opposition parties.
“I am appealing (for this meeting) in the name of political stability and a smooth transition. It will be preposterous for the Prime Minister to deny me this meeting,” said Anwar, who was flanked by leaders from PKR, DAP, PAS and even non-member Parti Sosialis Malaysia.
Asked why he still refused to give the exact number of defecting MPs or their names, Anwar said there was a fear the MPs would be detained or harassed if their names were released.
Asked what he would do if Abdullah refused to see him, Anwar smiled and replied: “Why assume he will refuse to see me? I am his friend. I believe we will meet.”
He said Pakatan would give Abdullah some time to consider because the latter was having problems within his own party.
Pressed for a deadline for a meeting with Abdullah, Anwar said he did not like to give any ultimatum but it should be within the next few days or “other options would be considered.”
He said he would refer to his coalition partners in Pakatan to discuss the next course of action, but was committed to ensuring the takeover was constitutional.
Anwar was non-committal when asked if he would seek an audience with the Yang DiPertuan Agong to present himself as commanding a majority in Parliament, or if he would seek a motion of no-confidence against Abdullah at the next Parliament sitting in October.
He said these options would be discussed with other Pakatan leaders.
Anwar said that in a letter submitted to Abdullah on Monday, Pakatan had made four demands to ensure a smooth transition:
1) That Barisan does not hinder or prevent the MPs from acting in accordance with their conscience, constitutional rights and independentjudgement;
2) That the Barisan government should not invoke the Internal Security Act to detain the MPs or any other current Pakatan MPs;
3) That the Barisan government does not invoke emergency laws or police powers or suspend the Constitution or dissolve Parliament; and
4) That the Barisan government shall not impose roadblocks or impede MPs from going to Parliament or any institution of government.
A Change of Government?
But many are speculating about the use of ISA. You know what I mean.
Pray hard!

D-Day
We shall be waiting closely tomorrow.
Though don't wish too hard too.
Lehman Bros files for bankruptcy
They have to go through the entire process and what's worse is that they have to do it in recession. And of course I hope they don't!
However, all of these are too good to be true. Not to pry on this, but didn't I tell you that oil and gas is the way. It's always constant and always in demand. Well, within our lifetime anyway.
All the best peeps. Just remember to keep your head high. You didn't do anything wrong!
From the BBC.
The fourth-largest investment bank in the US, Lehman Brothers, has filed for bankruptcy protection, amid a growing global financial crisis.
Lehman had incurred losses of billions of dollars in the US mortgage market.
The move threatens to deal a further blow to the global financial system, as banks unwind their deals with Lehman.
Merrill Lynch, also stung by the credit crunch, has agreed to be taken over by Bank of America in a dramatic weekend of events for Wall Street.
Its impact is being felt around the world:
Stock markets and the US dollar have tumbled in reaction to Lehman's collapse, with banking shares hardest hit. UK bank HBOS saw its shares plummet 30%.
Central banks have moved to reassure markets. The US Federal Reserve has broadened its emergency lending scheme and the UK and European central banks have injected a total of $39bn (£22bn; 28bn euros) into the financial system.
There are fears AIG, once the world's largest insurer, could also face collapse. It is taking steps to raise money amid reports it is seeking a $40bn emergency loan from the Fed.
Bank of America's move to buy Merrill in a $50bn deal means that three of the top five US investment banks have fallen prey to the sub-prime crisis within six months.
In the UK, accountants PricewaterhouseCoopers have been appointed as administrators for Lehman.
Anxious markets
Stock markets in Europe and Asia dropped sharply and the dollar tumbled against the yen, the euro and the Swiss franc as Lehman's failure raised fears about the strength of the global financial system.
The FTSE 100 index of leading UK shares was down 271 points, or 5%, at 5145.3 by midday.
Wall Street is also expected to open lower in what is likely to be a tense day of trading.
The Bank of England and the European Central Bank said they were monitoring developments and had pumped £5bn and $30bn respectively into money markets to help stabilise them.
US Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson said he would work with regulators and policy-makers around the world to maintain the stability of financial markets.
"I am confident in the resilience of our capital markets, and in the commitment of US regulators and market participants to work together through this difficult period," Mr Paulson said.
Talks collapse
The chance that Lehman Brothers could collapse increased sharply after the strongest potential buyers pulled out at the weekend.
Barclays and Bank of America had been in talks to rescue the bank but negotiations faltered when it became clear that the US Treasury was strongly opposed to using government money to help clinch a deal.
The Treasury had given $30bn backing to Bear Stearns in order to secure its sale to JP Morgan in March.
Greg Wood, the BBC's North America business correspondent, said that police had cordoned off the bank's headquarters in New York and staff were leaving with cardboard boxes as onlookers gathered to watch the bank's demise.
"I think the whole history - 150 years of effort and hard work - that's the most saddening part for me," said one Lehman employee as she left the building.
The bank, which employs about 25,000 staff worldwide, including 5,000 in the UK, was founded in 1850 by three brothers.
'Extraordinary 24 hours'
Lehman Brothers said it intended to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, which allows a company time to reorganise and devise a plan to pay creditors over time.
It said that its broker-dealer division and asset management division Neuberger Berman Holdings would not be included in the filing.
The accounting firm PriceWaterhouseCoopers said the UK operations of Lehman Brothers have been placed under administration, and the business would be wound down in an orderly fashion.
Bank of America said it had agreed to buy investment bank Merrill Lynch for $50bn (£28bn), in a deal that will create the world's largest financial services company.
Three of the top five US investment banks have now fallen victim to the credit crunch.
Lehman and Merrill join Bear Stearns, which was sold to JP Morgan for a knockdown price in March.
The BBC's business editor, Robert Peston, said that it had been Wall Street's most extraordinary 24 hours since the late 1920s.
He said that Merrill's sale was almost as shocking as Lehman's demise.
"The global financial economy has never in recent years been tested by quite such a combination of accidents and jolts to confidence," he said.
Insurer in trouble
In addition to Lehman and Merrill Lynch, problems at AIG, once the world's largest insurer, are also mounting.
Reeling from losses on its exposure to real estate, AIG has sought $40bn from the Federal Reserve to shore up its finances, the New York Times has reported.
To help prevent panic on financial markets, the Federal Reserve said for the first time it will accept stocks owned by banks as collateral for short-term cash loans, broadening its emergency lending programme.
Also 10 of the world's biggest banks on Sunday agreed to establish a $70bn emergency fund, with any one of the banks able to able to tap up to a third of it should they face any liquidity problems.

Laugh until stomach pain?
Seriously.
In Malaysiakini, the minister say(you guess who) said that it was the reporters fault for starting the information spread.
Tadda. This is the brilliant minister's work at his best.
Hello! You got to be kidding me!
What are reporters are suppose to tell? Your love for all races story and somehow filter all those bad remarks made by some %*$#&#$ idiot! Or what? Create stories ah? That also use ISA. Write the truth also use ISA.
It's just a lose lose lose lose situation for journalist. Sigh!
Faster change la. It's just too sickening to listen to this anymore.
It's Everywhere
But I don't even need to talk to you. From BBC to every website who talks about politics.
I guess we can hold our head high up once we have a new change of government once and for all!
Teresa Kok and More
You know, not that this is inflammatory remark by me, I believe from the bottom of my heart that the Government has no idea on what or how to govern a country where they are strongly not wanted anymore by the people.
They are just saying, 'HAH, see I got ISA ambik tu! Padan muka!' Didn't I say you don't even need to be in politics to know what is right or wrong?
My question is: Are they trying to rule with passion and the love for our benifit or fear. Fear that they might be out for good, they had to resort to this.
Many has said that this act is to incite more hatred between all races and who knows they will use the Emergency rule to take control of everything. Well, anything is possible these days.
Action speaks louder than words! So just watch out! Power is always sweet but remember there is always other greater power outside from the box.

New Wallet
Well, I think it's about high time I changed my wallet. I had this old wallet since I was Form 4 I think till now. I know there are some people who have their wallets for over 20 years make that 60 la. :D
But the leather of the wallet was coming out already and it's yucky to touch it. Eeeeeeeeeeeeee.
And tadda. Meet my new wallet from DKNY. I got it sometime ago though. Nice eh. :P
Goodbye Toothbrush
Anyway, I have to throw you away and my new one is totally a disappointment. So, I'm still getting a new one. :)
We shall see.

Ish.
Sorry la if I called an embassy instead of a florist. You don't need to be that aggressive. And yes I don't need to know that you have a maid called Katherine! Now, the world knows happy.
Anjing betina.
I wonder whether you look like this. :P (Just to note, I googled b***h and this was the first picture it popped up. Shocking and how interesting!)

Beijing Olympics
Sunday Oh Sunday
But first of all, the Olympics is the BOMB! London, I'm sure you fainted when you saw that opening. And I don't think the Council can raise anymore money for your Olympics. China spent about $40 billion. Good luck.
Will write more later as I'm going out for lunch.

Let's Sodomise Everyone
Not that I want to see the Government topple but I think it's a breath of fresh air to see a new body. Don't keep saying they don't know how to run a Government. They have to start from somewhere. And who knows. They might do a better job.
Anyway, I hope to see a better future in Malaysia ya. Though it's quite hard for me to see Dr Anwar to become our PM. Hmmmmmmmm.
Burning Tuesday
Anyway, I have been emo the entire day. Sigh!
To make things worse, Streamyx died on me.
T_T
But now, after Indian food which makes me even hotter now, the net is up. Yay!
Though I'm very tired now. So, I will sleep soon. :)

Maybank2U
Then only think which I was very annoyed is that I can't open an account anywhere I wish. The only place you can open an account is near your house which is ridiculous. What happens if you change your address other than your IC, let's say from Kelantan and now you are working in KL. So, I have to go back to Kelantan to open la ah? Gsssssssh.
The process is not too bad and the best part is that I get a debit visa card on the spot which is really good compared to HSBC which I had to wait for more than a week and months due to them issuing back to KL!!! A bit DUH! But yes they do.
They have loads of security. Unbelievable. If you want to change your details, you require a TAC number which you obtain from the ATM. Then you use that number to change your details. But this TAC changes every 120 minutes or so, then if you still want to change, you have to get a new TAC number. Not bad.
Thumbs up for Maybank2U! I will be using their services more. Also now, I have to do my EPF. Hmmmmmmmmmm.

The Dark Knight
Anyhow, Heath Ledger should get an Oscar for this performance. It was spot on and gave a different side of the Joker. Though haiya, not worth transforming yourself into the Joker for 2 weeks and then a few months later you ter-die.
A good show to watch. Definitely going to be a big blockbuster in this lifetime. Something different with the action-pack superhero.
