Happy Birthday Father

The title says it all. We got my dad a Burberry toiletry bag. He loves his Burberry so okay la. That's his birthday present. To be honest, it is quite hard to get a present for him since he has everything but I suppose this bag is super big he can keep his pharmaceutical stock of medication in it. :)

p/s: So full now that I feel like exploding. We had Japanese buffet in PJ Hilton.

Happy Birthday Changyong

I'm soooooooooooo sorry for this belated post. His birthday was on the 12th of October. Nearly 1 week. No worries I have sent my wishes already just that I didn't make a post about it. I was just lost with my own stupid life.

Happy Birthday Changyong.

Yes my good old friend. He is ever wise and definitely the brightest in Aeronautics. He certainly taught me to be more true to myself and always always ask if I don't know anything at anytime. He is a fearless general who will conquer the world. He is just one of those special Singaporeans. He never thinks for himself but always give more to his friends.

The first time I knew Changyong was in the Garden's BBQ on Fresher's week. I definitely remember Nicole introducing me to this tiny boy in his big big jacket. Not knowing that this would be a great start of a true friendship. Years after years we endured the pain Aero could throw at us, we persevered. I wouldn't have pass all my years without him.

From his geekyness to his charming insane grin he has, he certainly is an all rounder in every aspect of life. Why am I not surprise if he's the top in Singapore in everything or may be a General in the military. I still remember you disturbing me in lectures when you lost your concentration and just destroy my notes. Vice versa. Talking about maturity there. Oh well, I still love you. Hahaha.

Well, all I can say that I'm proud to have a great friend like you and I will definitely NOT miss the graduation in the Singapore. It's a big hurdle to jump now getting my family to say yes but I think I can. I will not miss this for anything other than my sister is quite mad that I'm not going to send her off back to London.

Here are some good memories.

Changyong and I in Wimbledon.

The Maniacs of Aeronautics. This was taken after a CFD class!!!

I think this was the last days of lectures. Materials to be exact.

I love this picture. The last day before I headed off to Norway for my project. I really miss you all.

Happy Birthday Wan

Well, it was on the 6th and yes I wished him. So, this is not a belated post. However, I just went out for dinner with him. There was Colin, Pear, Evona, Tiong and Hyree. Initial dinner plan was in Nando but after getting a rude waitress, I decided we moved to Khan's. The place was bigger and I suppose the food was much better.

We had tonnes of food. I'm so full now I can explode. More like a 6 month pregnant. Hahaha. How do I know that? I dunno. I just estimate. I don't think I can sleep just yet. Nanti tomorrow, I would just pengsan!!!

Anyway Wan, I hope you had a great birthday celebration then and many returns of the day. You have been certainly the figure of sense and righteous.

Spontaneous Saturday

Let me start off saying that I'm extremely tired because of my overdose of caffeine from my Starbucks. But I suppose I had a drive to go out to meet up my very ambitious junior, Wei Shen. He messaged me about 1 p.m to meet up for lunch since he was bored and just finished his gym. Unfortunately, I had my lunch but I had no problem just meeting up with him anywhere. Besides, I needed to show him where Soho is.

After 20 minutes going through public transport, we explored Soho for about 15 minutes to find a restaurant or bar for Wei Shen to eat something as I quote from him 'light' though I know he eats like a horse. We ended up eating in a nice pub. Quite fancy the seatings and all. I had a pair of oysters(sounds so cool and posh huh. I know) and a chocolate malt milkshake. I have to say the milkshake was good. He had a cheeseburger.

I had another plan to head off to Imperial for their Fresher's Reception and it seems that RTM was there to film or document how Malaysians celebrate Raya in London away from Malaysia. To be honest, I think it's just a way for the 'crew' of RTM to just go on holiday to the UK for Raya. Heh. However, I decided to divert from that plan.

My junior from Melaka had a mini mishap. She fainted and fractured her skull. So, of course she was sent to the hospital and she is fine. Obviously, this was more important than my fame on T.V. To be honest, this is my first time ever visiting a friend in a hospital and also visiting a UK hospital. Sad I know. But hospital isn't the best place to visit or to catch up with an old friend. She is now resting well. So no worries for her. Get well soon girl. ;)

Not to mention, it's her birthday on Sunday i.e. today midnight. Happy Birthday too Joanne.

After the visit, we headed off to Wei Shen's place for dinner since it was around the corner for dinner. We had Thai food. Pad Thai and Tom Yum was good. Acceptable lah. Hahaha. And of course we ended the meal by going to Wei Shen's house. I had a good look at it and it's quite nice. Student-ish. Hehehe.

I definitely had a good talk with him about politics, race and religion. Not to be politically right or being racist and all. But sometimes, I like to get other people's view of recent topics which dominates our current daily lives. It wasn't overkill with who is bad and all but a general picture of current issues. We have to always expand our minds and broaden our views on everything.

I always believe that 3 things should never be spoken at the table; Politics, Race, Religion. However, it will always pop up no matter how you avoid it. To be frank, all the world issues are revolves around these 3 topics. I dare and bet with you if you could tell me which current issues doesn't consist of one of these issues. I'm sure to win this bet easily.

To conclude, it was a good day.

Happy Birthday Malaysia

Today, 50 years ago, the famous seven words our First Prime Minister shouted "Merdeka!, Merdeka!, MERDEKA!" gave birth to a great nation which we all call now Malaysia. The British certainly gave a run for their money giving us the right to rule our own country ourselves. And we certainly proved them wrong.

Even the BBC has made comparison between Malaysia and Ghana who also gained their independence at the same time. But yet, Malaysia has developed and steamed ahead in front in all industries and sectors.

I believe Malaysia is home to the best multi-racial, multi-race, multi-religion country the world has seen. Though we have our differences, we managed to tolerate and find it in our hearts to accept each other through time and understanding.

Okay okay. Enough of all those history and soapy stuff. I'm quite upset because I won't be able to watch the celebration this year because I'm currently in Norway. I would have seen definitely many fireworks display from my apartment and it would have certainly been spectacular.

I am proud to be Malaysian and always be a Malaysian.

Happy Merdeka
Malaysia.

Happy Birthday Heng Kai

Happy Birthday Heng Kai.

It has been about 11 months I have known you. I still remember the first time speaking to you on MSN and you weren't shy at all voicing out your concerns about Imperial, what to expect and being in London. You were also bold enough to meet me in Midvalley after about a few chats. Our first encounter was really funny and my famous quote 'You look like a senior.'

So, the first term you were trying to settle in and I bet you did quite well adapting to your new environment. You loved Beit Hall which was basically across Imperial(well, my department at least) and attending your lectures at your leisure. And of course you have your Gothic roommate.

It was really sweet of you to celebrate my birthday dinner with me eventhough you were busy. I know I had a dateline the day after too. But food comes first right. ;)

Man, you look so young. Thanks again for coming.

Then, came me going over to Norway which was quite hard for me leaving a lot of things behind. At that point I regretted going to Norway. My first thought of going abroad was because I had nothing in London as most of my friends had graduated. However, you helped me through those tough times. You certainly changed my mind and attitude.

I shall pass the emo and jiwang stuff I faced when I was in Norway and came MNight which I flew back. You were amazing on stage by the way and I wouldn't missed it for the anything. I'm still pissed that I missed you after the show.

Here in Mandarin Kitchen and I won the bet. I told you I never lose a bet. I should have wagered more. :)

Anyway, during my 4 months in Norway, I managed to find a long lost little brother. Even my Norwegian friends congratulated me for finding one. To be honest, I was shocked them congratulating me and it was quite funny.

I can't put in words for how much you have helped me, Kai. You are always lost when I say thanks for helping me out in everything. And you know what. You definitely have been right and during that times, you were the older brother. :D And I also apologise for the dumb questions and the disturbance I give you all the time.

My last day for my holidays in March. I know very lame taking a picture at the Queen's Tower.

And my last day for the Easter holidays. I think that would be the best Easter break I had bunking at your place.

Once again Heng Kai, Happy 19th Birthday. I'm sure you will have a great day and sorry I can't make it back. You know I would love to be there. Well, I'm sure you would have a handful of things to do. Have fun Little Brother!

Happy Birthday Siew Ping

Happy Birthday Siew Ping.

I'm really sorry that I won't be back to celebrate your birthday. Though I also fear I might get lost going to PD too. And I don't want to get sulphure poisoning too. :P

Anyway, the first time I heard(more like met) you was on Skype and you were surely very scary with your laughter. I still get goosebumps when I hear that sound of malice. And sorry la ah, I still haven't gotten you a doughnut yet but you la never around one. :)

You have been an exceptional friend. You always picked me up when I'm down and also made me even crazier when I was in Norway. I don't think I have met a person like you who laughs all the time at the smallest things. You are definitely one of the most cheerful person ever. Though you are cruel forcing me to sing to entertain you. But since this is your day should I sing you 'You are 20 going on 21" ah?

However, I don't think I'm going to tell about the experience being 21 and I'm NOT old okay. :) But yes I do admit I don't think right at times. Though I'm very thankful and may be not influencing me going into photography and becoming your alarm clock, it certainly did me some good. :D

Once again Happy 21st Birthday and hope you have a great day.

Pictures of the Birthday Girl. :)

Here is my gift to you. :P

Happy Birthday Yew Kuan

Yo Yew Kuan(though he never reads my blog). Happy 23rd Birthday. I know it is slightly late but you have been extremely busy with work huh? Well, I hope you had a great day and many returns of the day.

This was our famous trip to Stockholm, Sweden. I will definitely remember this for a long long time.

Well, my history with Mr Kuok is about 13-14 years and it has certainly been quite fun having you as a buddy. I'm still amazed for my side that we have NEVER ever been in the same class for 13-14 years. Even for Jia Jer. Through SKBD to VI. For that 8 years we have never been in the same class. Amazing stuff yet we are brought together by our activities and of course by our Mothers.

Well, now you are a good auditor(cough cough). Semangat yar. :D
