As a responsible Malaysian, I have done my part. I'm now control the fate of my beloved country. Hahahaha. Okay. Over dramatic here but I believe and hope that my vote will make a difference to the country.
To my surprise, my polling station was really fast. I did it in less than 2 minutes. Make it 30 seconds.
The process goes like this:
1. Enter the your polling station(schools usually) and you should be greeted by many people from the various parties. The police will block off roads entering the school. However, the first tent was DAP which offered their help to guide me which polling room I was to go to make the transition faster.
N/B: There's a rule that they must be no party poster around a raduis of 50 metres away from any polling station.
2. You give your IC to be checked. They will give you a ticket stating which room you need to go too. There will be escorts around to show you which room to go. In Hartamas Primary, it had 3 rooms only.
3. Then you go to your polling room. There will be a police man in front of the door to direct you.
4. In the room, there will be 4 people. Show IC again. One from the EC to read out my reference and identification to the other 3 people who consist of one each representative from each party and one neutral party.
5. The EC will give you a folded, orange ballot paper with the party's symbols.
6. Go to the PAPER-MAKE SHIFT room and mark your party with a PENCIL on the ballot paper!
7. Throw your ballot in a transparent plastic box.
8. Exit the room quietly.
9. Cabut for teh tarik and complain about the election. Lol. :P
Anyway, it was quite a fast process but I'm just very very very very very disappointed that they used a PENCIL to mark my X on it. You gotta be kidding me. I mean how not to change the vote or 'accidentally' conteng the ballot paper. At least use the inerasible ink which the EC bought for RM2.4 million!!! DUUUUUUUUUUH!!! Even don't want to use that ink, then use a pen la!!!
Seriously, they got to improve this for the next general election. I'm going to bring this up to my MP.
